Finished your Biochemistry degree, really like research, but no plans yet? Come and join us as a research assistant. We are looking for someone with experience in protein purification who wants to support our research projects on molecular motors. Apply: t.ly/Kluxa

@MAFesenko @ChisatoTsuji @BristolBiochem @UoBrisPPN Thanks Mary. Yes, there are systems where microtubules drive the formation of protrusions that are on our list. However, there are also many images in the microtubule cryoET literature, that suggest (to me at least), that these structures may form quite frequently. Will be fun...

@MarkDodding @ChisatoTsuji @BristolBiochem @UoBrisPPN Beautiful EM 🤩 I’ve loved following this story so far! Do you plan to explore intraluminal actin in other cellular contexts where the cytoskeleton is under high mechanical stress? Congratulations to all the authors 👏

Alexander Fellows, Andrew Carter et al @MRC_LMB show that individual #dynein motors can move the entire axon length during retrograde transport. In the anterograde direction, dynein & dynactin are transported separately, keeping them apart until required. hubs.la/Q02mfsKQ0

If you are interested in joining my group to study how microtubule motors select their cargos (or vice versa) then please see the two adverts below. One is based on neuronal cell biology, the other on reconstitution and cryoEM. nature.com/naturecareers/… nature.com/naturecareers/…
