Veteran team with absolutely no gumption, desire, consistency, or killer instinct. Enough already.

It's a fun discussion because it's two elite players, so folks will have different opinions and preferences. Hughes is more dynamic offensively, but there's some give and take with that. He creates a ton, but he also gives up a lot. Has a negative xGF% this series even with everything he's created and the #'s against the top Avs guys aren't pretty. He's also just being played too much out of necessity. Even a less than 100% Makar has some pretty dominant on-ice numbers this series, especially against guys like Boldy.

Hockey fans overuse the term generational like crazy. There’s only 6 generational talents in NHL history Bobby Orr Mike Bossy Wayne Gretzky Mario Lemieux Sidney Crosby Connor McDavid

Hockey fans need to learn the difference between a franchise player and generational player. Generational are once in 10 years best in the game type players... Crosby Mcdavid Ovechkin Mario Gretzky Jagr Orr Lindstrom Hasek Roy Franchise players are elite elite but not quite the best of their era.. Joe Sakic Sundin Lafontaine Mogilny Mackinnon Adam oats Brett Hull Pierre Turgeon Curtis Joseph Carey Price Matthews Draisaitl Kucherov Eichle Quinn Hughes Then you have players that will trigger debates.. Lindros was going to be generational but injuries killed that. Forsberg.. considered by many the best swede to ever lace em up, another injury plagued career but i'd argue for him being close. Cale Makar could end up being Generational when it's all said and done, he's on that path at the moment. Ray bourque. Paul Coffee likely could be called generational as they were the best of the best in the 80's on D. I just don't like to give our generational easily.. There should be 1-2 forwards, 1-2 Dmen and 1-2 goalies per generation that get that type of tag. the clear best of the best for that position. @MinorMidgetGTHL you said something that made me think of this post so i made it. Give me your take on it all when you're bored.

Many people forget that the Colorado Avalanche were up 2-0 against the Minnesota Wild in 2014! The Mikael Granlund OT winner in game 3 turned this series around! The Wild went on to win that series in OT! The Wild have done it before! #MNwild

@dalvinthetruth Neither one of those two young men are “mid” The amount of extremely intense recruiting that Jackson and Reis received from multiple 2025-26 Playoff Teams was mind-blowing. Star Rankings are completely out of touch with the actual recruiting of prospects.

@Tyler_Polumbus Hughes is a bona fide American hero. Almost but not quite as good an all around D man as Makar. Nothing wrong with second best in the world.
