@CoachSwit I watched a man at our tourney today chalk the batters box and the lines, not paint, chalk. He obviously took pride in what he does, it was refreshing to see and I hoped I was not the only one who appreciated it

Tournament directors are charging $1,500–$2,000 per team… yet some fields have mounds and home plates that haven’t been touched all weekend. If you’re charging premium prices, shouldn’t the field be game-ready? Asking for a friend.

Just when you think you have seen it all in the football recruiting tweet and graphics world.... Turn on X and I see this kid has "flipped" his decision to attend a camp at one school to another. Not a college commitment, not a portal entry, not a "transfer" to the other side of town high school, not a thank you for 1 free 4 year education, but a graphic on a kid deciding to attend a different summer camp Please tell me this is not the new trend in graphics In addition --- AI gone too far....

@CoachSwit Question? My son is a catcher (27) whose primary goal in college is an education. Looking for a good fit and would have no interest in entering the portal, is this something that would be attractive to college coaches and if so how would he express that to garner interest?

H.S. seniors used to celebrate Signing Day. Now they don’t even sign Letters of Intent. Some arrive on campus wondering if they’ll be in the portal by Christmas. The NCAA created free agency, eliminated stability, and called it a system. What a disaster.

@CoachSwit I think what’s worse is when high school athletes transfer to another school their senior year , usually a private school that recruits like a travel ball team. When the going gets tough……..

I understand why some families choose to reclass. I get it. But it does hurt high school sports at times. Why not do a post-grad year instead? College coaches already know the age and situation anyway.

@CoachSwit Look at football coaches now, they were all in suits, now some look like they dressed in the dark

Someone told me it’s ridiculous that H.S. baseball coaches wear baseball pants and uniforms. Why? It’s baseball. MLB coaches wear uniforms. College coaches wear uniforms. When did looking professional and representing your program the right way become a bad thing?

@BaseballDudes48 If there are runners on the corners and the runner takes second without a throw then I give defensive indifference but this gets a lot of parents upset

Scorekeeping 101: • When a runner advances on a wild pitch or passed ball, it’s NOT a stolen base. IF they were running on the pitch, then YES, it’s scored a stolen base. • On a ground ball in the infield, if the throw would have beat the runner to first base but a bad throw or missed catch by the first baseman results in the runner being safe, it’s an error, NOT a hit. • On the same type of play if the ball was fielded cleanly but the runner beat the throw to first base but a bad throw allowed the runner to reach second base, this is scored a single and advanced to second on an error.
