@Honesty4OhioEd Story is unclear. What happens if a student tries to transfer at the downtown hub? Is there something special and visible about the pass? How does the state leg even dictate a bus transfer policy? Help me understand what exactly is being reported on.

@humantransit A couple times I've seen the tracking system rewrite history. You check on Monday and the package is in Denver. You check on Tuesday and the package was NEVER ANYWHERE NEAR Denver.

An urgent package that needs to get here before our wedding on July 13 is en route from Savannah, Missouri addressed to me in Portland, Oregon. So far, it's been to Chicago and now it seems to be in Denver. The tracking system gives only enough info to maximize panic. 2/

I'm having an interesting personal experience with the Trump Administration's ongoing efforts to wreck the US Postal Service, and thereby to wreck the countless small businesses that rely on it for affordable shipping. 1/ @USPSHelp

Wondering why you are stuck right now on McGuiness Blvd ? This truck can’t make the turn because our genius lawmakers put a protected bike lane on the biggest truck route in the area- they hate cars and hate business.

Checked out LA’s newest bike path today. Despite a $143M price tag & delays, the @metrolosangeles “rail to rail” trail somehow manages to end 2 blocks short of both the A & K line stations on either end despite fenced off empty lots of former ROW between it & both stations… 🫣🤦🏼‍♂️

I’m convinced that age doesn’t make you forgetful. Having way too much stupid things you remember makes you forgetful. I have 72 yrs of dumb stuff stuck in my head so I’m running out of room for new stuff 🤔🥴

@multimodalLA And there is *so much headroom* on ridership. The environmental (and other) gains from simply *replacing more car trips* are so much bigger than the (totally valid and real) negatives of diesel fuel.

Just asked a California transit manager if the state's Zero Emission Bus mandate is causing them to run less service than they otherwise would. He said: "Yes, definitely." A diesel bus only has to get 4 ppl out of cars to be better for the planet than an electric bus. Hmm.

@ClevelandScene On what basis do you claim that the Browns organization would be doing the renovating? It's not like they're paying for it. Also, they always switch the conversation to aesthetics when the fiscal case for subsidies inevitably falls flat. Vince, this is bad reporting.

@MarkWSchumann @humantransit The new driver parks at the depot, gets their briefing and route assignment, and heads out with a fully-charged and clean bus, while the driver ending their shift returns their bus to the depot. It's clearly not zero overhead, but it's also not the end of the world either

@multimodalLA @ChachaMarquis @humantransit Your post actually illustrates my point well It's so easy to approach this with "it's too hard, I can't do it". But if we instead approach it from the perspective of "let's try" we might realize that there are solutions and we actually can do it! Just like other countries did

@humantransit I think you're lacking creativity. Drivers don't work 20 hour shifts, so vehicle rotation at shift change requires minimal overhead. Most agencies have some peak surge periods, after which some vehicles are returned to the depot. Also a great time for rotation without overhead

@meatballtimes I apply Adelberg's Razor at work *all the time.* And stuff I learned in my 50% Economics program. Abstract Algebra came up recently, which was fun. Sure, I could have chosen not to learn these things. That would have been my fault, not the college's.

@meatballtimes Disputing #3: If you want to avoid learning in college, and then go on to live an ignorant life, it's always been possible and it's always been done. Not sure that's college's fault though.

has anyone stopped to ask WHY students cheat? would a buddhist monk "cheat" at meditation? would an artist "cheat" at painting? no. when process and outcomes are aligned, there's no incentive to cheat. so what's happening differently at colleges? the answer is in the article:

Cyclists are so obnoxious.
megabar@megabar_

@Boenau Bikers would do far more for their cause by being less obnoxious on the roads than by citing statistics. But many won't, because for some reason they think they're entitled to be obnoxious.

@BrennanforOhio Also it needs to be said: If a thing *does* "generate" some amount of tax revenue, *that is the public's money.* It does not belong to the landlord or the developer or the team.

☘️State Representative Sean Patrick Brennan☘️
Recently, I requested an analysis from the Ohio Office of Budget and Management of the $600M state loan to subsidize the new Browns stadium. Today I received it and wish to report that I am vindicated, as my predictions that the Haslam’s tax generation and job creation numbers were way overblown. Here is a summary of the findings. By the way, the analysis does not include the hundreds of millions taxpayers will be on the hook for infrastructure renovations in the area, especially highways.
