Sort of feels like Trump did what Putin failed to do in Ukraine AND what Tymoshenko did to Ukraine (her oil+gas deal). Either way, this timeline sucks.

American foreign policy becomes an extension of the Kremlin's effort to expand the russkiy mir because a political scare turned into a policy scar. jamestown.org/wp-content/upl…

Hobnobbing in the Kremlin, Napoleon & Squealer (aka @SecRubio & @realDonaldTrump) toasted their new partners with “Europe is bad, Russia is better.”

What did we think was going to happen? Just two weeks ago, the United States threatened to withhold arms sales for Ukraine that were *already paid for* by European allies. After a year of policy like that, it's hard to make the case that the United States is reliable.

Met with Kenyan President @WilliamsRuto. We signed a groundbreaking agreement that protects American taxpayers, empowers Kenya, and saves lives. We also discussed security cooperation, commercial opportunities for American businesses, and Kenya’s significant contributions to Haiti’s security.

Bernard-Henri Lévy gets it. This isn't some slow-motion disaster—America has already abandoned Ukraine and Europe. We can stop pretending a miracle is coming. When Trump had the sheer gall to pitch his stupid, tacky "fantastic tunnel" idea—a secret handshake with his buddy putin—to President Zelenskyy, he wasn't just being an idiot, he was officially defecting to the other side. Europe, wake up! You’re all alone staring down putin’s imperial nonsense, thanks to the useful idiot in Mar-a-Lago. Bernard-Henri Lévy: “I think there's something important, Darius Rochebin. You know, I think we have to face the facts once and for all. America is not about to abandon Ukraine. America has abandoned Ukraine. That's it. It is not about to abandon Europe. It has abandoned Europe. And we must get used to thinking, in the months and weeks to come, that this war in Ukraine must be thought out and conducted without the Americans. When, in the Oval Office, when Donald Trump had the nerve to ask Zelenskyy what he thought—remember, a few weeks ago—what he thought of the fantastic idea of the most beautiful tunnel ever seen in the history of the world, between the brilliant America and the admirable Russia. He had the cheek to ask Zelenskyy what he thought of this idea. And Zelenskyy, moreover, understanding Trump, like the magnificent character he is, who is capable, indeed, of putting himself in any situation, he said, "Indeed, I don't much like this idea." But what did that mean? It means that Trump's America has gone over to the other side. You have to accept it. There will be meanders, there will be setbacks, there will be negotiations where we will have the impression that putin resists against the West, but in reality, Europe must admit the fact that it is alone today to defend itself...” Bernard-Henri Lévy (BHL) is a prominent French philosopher, writer, and public intellectual, born in Béni Saf, French Algeria, in 1948. * Philosophical Roots: He was a key founder of the "New Philosophers" movement in the 1970s, which offered an uncompromising moral critique of totalitarianism and Marxist dogmas, notably in his influential work Barbarism with a Human Face (1977). * Activist & Correspondent: Lévy is known for his political engagement and international activism, having served as a war correspondent during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971 and subsequently campaigning for intervention in conflicts like the Bosnian and Libyan Wars. * Tunisian Conviction: Lévy was recently sentenced to 33 years in prison in absentia (while abroad) by a Tunisian court. The conviction was part of a mass trial involving numerous opposition figures on charges of "conspiracy against state security," a case widely described by rights groups as politically motivated. He continues to be a widely published and often controversial figure in international affairs and literature.

Here’s an easy deal @realDonaldTrump can make if you show it to him @SecRubio: Designate Russia a state sponsor of terrorism. Easy win for you and him.

.@SecRubio on the Russia-Ukraine war: "But we think that now is the ideal time for both sides to end the war and if there’s a way to bridge the divide between the two sides we're the only ones in the world that can do it and that's what we're trying to do. Ultimately it’s going to be up to them. If they decide they don't want to end the war, then the war will continue."

The Wall Street Journal alleges that the real motivation behind Trump’s eagerness to force Ukraine into an ugly surrender is the idea that a lot of people close to him can make a lot of money doing business and deals in Russia. If this is true, beyond the disgusting morality of this and the huge geopolitical risks that it creates, none of these people salivating over their future riches are going to make a penny, and perhaps do a lot worse. I was once the largest foreign investor in Russia and I can say with certainty that the Russians aren’t going to let anyone profit in any way. They will talk nice at the outset to attract the investment, but once it’s there, they will steal, defraud, arrest, torture or even kill to make sure that no American makes any money. I’ve seen it so many times it’s almost universal. So, this shocking initiative is not only terrible policy, it’s spectacularly stupid business. wsj.com/world/russia/r…

"The appalling spectacle of United States Senators refusing to uphold their oath of office to protect America because of the political influence of a hostile foreign enemy is not a difference of opinion on foreign affairs. It is the coerced behavior of the influence of the Russian Federation. Because Trump is compromised, and they follow Trump, they are compromised."

WSJ with a devastating, intensely-sourced article demonstrating how Trump, Kushner, and Witkoff tried to sellout Ukraine, the U.S., and Europe for money. It's so bad one of our European allies shared evidence of the planned business deals. A must-read. wsj.com/world/russia/r…

The rot is finally surfacing. A former Brexit Party MEP - named in WhatsApp messages alongside jailed Reform UK leader Nathan Gill - is now denying pro-Russian payments after being linked to a Putin-aligned influence network. This isn’t a one-off. Brexit wasn’t homegrown. It was infiltrated. Farage built his career on a movement riddled with Russian 🇷🇺 links and now the messages, the money trails and the convictions are landing. Sunlight really is hitting the vampires. 🔗 bbc.com/news/articles/…
