I recently started working out of our office in Midtown. The amount of Rolexes on 20 something year olds is outrageous. Either it’s daddy’s watch or they don’t have their priorities straight

Someone asked if I could tell them where to buy a pair of good chinos. In this thread, I will tell you, but my answer is not simple. On the upside, I think this is a better approach when shopping for clothes and you can apply it to any kind of item. 🧵

@JonnyRoot_ Genuine question, but can’t any past champion do this? Why don’t they? There are plenty of previous winners still in their prime aren’t there?

Maybe getting the opportunity to play Augusta National unlimited times the month leading into The Masters, while skipping three straight tournaments, gave Rory McIlroy an unfair advantage over the other competitors… Just maybe. Congrats, or whatever.

If LeBron ducks OKC, his case for top 10 all time is basically gone. He has to man up and play, and secure the homecourt for the Lakers. You can’t call yourself ‘the King’ and then bail when the team needs you. Mike and Kobe weren’t quitters, neither is Luka.

@DavidASmith2414 @shivmalik Previous salary adjusted for inflation is a tough measure - I understand that a lot of jobs haven’t risen with inflation? … not sure that a 1980 postman’s salary adjusted for inflation is a 2026 postman salary

@shivmalik Could I afford my current home IN ITS USED STATE at current prices with my previous salary ADJUSTED FOR INFLATION? Absolutely. Could I afford it as a new build home? That would be tougher. I'd have to look up old salaries and inflation rates.

Dear boomers, can you afford to buy the house you live in currently with the wage you used to earn before you retired? If you can’t, then that’s the whole housing problem in a nutshell. It really is that simple to understand.

@jackcalifano I remember being outside a fairly trendy byo pizza place in Sydney about ten years ago - there was a big queue, but the restaurant was lending out glasses to the punters waiting, who got stuck into their byo wines out front. Amazing energy

@RetreatF0rward @mwupfront Don’t disagree, but isn’t that the same for most cities? (I’d argue that it’s even worse in Sydney for instance?

@mwupfront If you live within 5km of the CBD, it's a great experience. If you live further than that, you lose out on most of the benefits of being in Melbourne.

I ordered a steak medium rare. It came out medium. Do I send it back? Of course not. 1. the kitchen staff / waiter has to eat the mistake. 2. it's a waste of food 3. who cares? it's just food. why waste the time and energy?

Guys, this is what $85 USD can get you in Australia. Weekend rate. Is there a better value golf course on the entire planet? St. Andrews Beach may be the actual best deal on literal earth. I cannot think of a better one. I’m stumped. Plus Kangaroos.

This generation is so lame closing their tab out after every single drink. Back in my day I used to leave my tab open at every single bar and if I forgot my card somewhere I had to walk of shame back to several bars the next day because I couldn’t remember which bar I left it at

@Normdeplumeee @Top100Rick But if you are a Melburnian and “the area” is “The mornington peninsula” / outside of “Metro Melbourne” then it’s probably 2 or 3 behind 1 or 2 of the national courses.

@Normdeplumeee @Top100Rick I thought this was a silly comment at first, but if you include Melbourne as “the area” (which I guess it is globally) then I reckon it sneaks top ten, but definitely agree that 2 x RM, PK north, KH, Vic, Metro and at least one of the national courses have it covered.

@ddbleek685 We are blessed in this part of the world! You chose very well, there’s another 6-8 courses that are just behind these, but still elite (Vic, Metro, St Andrew’s Beach, The National (3x courses) 7 Mile Beach … RM East, PK south)
