Proud to present my first EVER last-author paper 😱 This was a project that my former master student @MBanwinkler & I did together with @MarkusRuetgen & @ClausLamm (@ScanUnit). 🗝️-message: No robust association between self-reported painkiller intake & empathy/prosociality. 💊

Are you working in the field of empathy for pain and are looking for some great stimuli? 🤔 We created 29 stimuli you can use in picture-based tasks - from cigarette burns & squashed hands to hot coffee 😵 The stimuli: osf.io/2q3zu/files/os… The paper: doi.org/10.1093/texcom…

New preprint! We found that short term isolation increases reward seeking and reinforcement learning rates in adolescents (N=40, within-subject). Access to social media partially remediates isolation effects but also decreases learning from social feedback psyarxiv.com/ndt9k/

🔥 PREPRINT TIME 🔥 My last #PhD paper titled "Placebo analgesia reduces costly prosocial helping to lower another’s pain" has just gone live! 😱 If you want to know how a placebo 💊could potentially change your prosociality, check psyarxiv.com/drfht/ or this thread! (1/7)

🚨Preprint🚨 Together with @ClausLamm & @HenrykBukowski we argue that SOD for motor, cognitive, & affective mental representations 1) is supported by distinct and not a unitary process; 2) recruits domain-general processes related to a cognitive control only to a limited extent
PsyArXiv-bot@PsyArXivBot

Self-other distinction across motor, cognitive, and affective representations is neither unitary nor domain-general zpr.io/Gi4NUpwPssT8

Emotions are rarely communicated by a single expression. In a new paper @NatureHumBehav we ask: How do we aggregate emotional expressions over time? We show that memory of stronger expressions leads people to overweigh these expressions and overestimate emotional sequences.
Nature Human Behaviour@NatureHumBehav

Goldenberg et al. show that we tend to overestimate the average intensity of a sequence of emotional expressions, due to better memory for stronger expressions. @Amit_Goldenb @JonasP_Schoene #emotions buff.ly/3bjPjqk
