@FNBarnBurner @FlamesNation Darryl would probably bring a cup to Edmonton. He was great for Gaudreau, Tkachuk and Lindholm. He could do the same for McDavid and Draisaitl.

@BertaLovin @IvisonJ That would take another level of litigation to split apart a province. Not likely to ever happen.

Two of my least favourite, but related, conditions: Alberta separatism and the tendency to blame Canada for Trump's delirium.
David for Alberta Independence@dnSabine

@IvisonJ Carney has spent a year+ destroying Canada's relationship with USA. "It's Over" he keeps saying. He aligns Canada increasingly with China, India, Qatar, Palestine, and EU. He sent troops to Greenland FFS . This is self-inflicted.

@BertaLovin @IvisonJ How do you think the US accumulated such large debt? This whole conversation would be different if one of Nunavut, the Yukon, or B.C. were part of the independence movement. Without access to tidewater we’re screwed.

@MartinDmart @IvisonJ That's because Canada doesn't let Alberta meaningfully export to the West Coast, and allows zero East Coast pipelines. Canada also massively deficit spends despite large surpluses of tax dollars from Alberta. What advantages could be gained from Alberta remaining in Canada?

@BertaLovin @IvisonJ We export most of our oil to them already, allowing them to deeply discount the price we pay for our oil. Their debt per capita is almost 4 times what ours is. What advantages could could be gained by becoming a part of that mess? The benefits are all in their favour.

@JonathanWillis @colbycosh But he won a Cup! I’d suggest instead of hiring Berube, the Oilers go get Binnington. He was the real reason the Blues won their Cup.

Toronto's power play implodes, its 5v5 goal share and expected goal share collapse, it allows more shots than anyone else in the league, it can't defend a lead, and of its two stars one guy is gone and the other guy looks like a shadow of himself. Let's talk to that coach!
Ryan Rishaug@TSNRyanRishaug

Hearing a formal interview with Berube is expected after some initial conversation between he and Bowman. Permission to speak with Bruce Cassidy had still not been granted as of Sunday night.

@andrew_leach I would think the CEO of a major pipeline company would be well informed about where his companies capital is best spent. Things on the surface appear to be changing under Carney’s leadership. Let’s hope he follows through.

@MartinDmart The CEO of TC seems to have a short memory for where capital is and isn't welcome. I guess they divested the memories of their liquids pipeline business in the US to Southbow too.

Right now, Ksi Lisims (approved 2025) and LNG Canada phase 2 are all waiting for investment decisions. Cedar and Woodfibre are under construction. Kitimat was fully approved a long time ago. Etc. Etc.

François Poirier, CEO of TC Energy: “Capital goes where it’s welcome, and for too long it has not felt welcome here.” “In 2025, the US sanctioned USD $56B in LNG-related projects. Canada made no sanctionings [sic] in that same time period.”

@FriedgeHNIC The Flames should have developed him after he was drafted. They could use a forward like him now.

@MatchsticksCGY You need to create internal competition for jobs. No one should be guaranteed a position.

This wasn’t intended to come off as a slight/issue with Conroy. He’s done a great job turning over the team and getting younger. Just a pressing need to clear up some roster spots heading into next season as there’s already a few too many guys at each position.

The Flames essentially have their full roster of 13F/8D/2G already signed next season. Which leaves them no room for re-signing RFA/UFAs, graduating prospects, or free agent/trade acquisitions. Conroy has preached the value of flexibility, but the Flames have almost none rn.

@BizNasty2point0 It’s so satisfying to see Marner lighting it up for Vegas the season after Leafs fans chased him out of town. Even better that the Leafs missed the playoffs.

If I played in the NHL, I would have a “penalty kill” stick. 5 inches longer than my regular stick. 4 guys all with longer sticks will decrease space to work with.

@Bob_Stauffer @EdmontonOilers A run to the finals two years in a row took its toll. The goaltender wasn’t the problem tonight. If Bruce Cassidy is willing to take this team on and give it some defensive structure, they’ll be back next year. McDavid and Draisaitl are too good for them not to be.

The @EdmontonOilers season comes to an end. PK Killed them! ANA PP 9/18 in the series. EDM compromised at Center: McDavid, Draisaitl and Dickinson all played through significant LBI's, Henrique-out. Ducks were better, especially on home ice. Tough season overall in Oil Country.

@DownGoesBrown Yeah, not happening and shouldn't. This is a moronic take, now if we see the same next year I might listen, but after three WCF I am not ready to move on after one first round exit with all the injuries they were playing through. Seguin, Hintz alone are a huge loss.

Wow, Dallas out in round one. Fired their coach after three straight trips to the conference final. Kept last year's roster mostly as is. Extension or not, they have to fire Jim Nill. Like, right now. Make him available for any other openings around the league. Immediately.
