From our experience in @KituiCounty, integrated interventions like the One Health approach are the linchpin of climate resilience — connecting human, animal, and environmental health to tackle emerging threats and protect livelihoods. Through the @AfricaCDC's Saving Lives and Livelihoods (SLL) project,Amref has applied this integrated model to deliver joint human and animal health services to over 214 remote communities across Kitui’s arid and semi-arid regions. The approach brings together immunisations, NCD screenings, treatment for common ailments, environmental education, and livestock vaccinations — reducing disease burdens and strengthening local health systems. 🇰🇪 Kenya is close to finishing its 2nd National Action Plan for Health Security (NAPHS II). The plan will guide the country from 2026 to 2030 to prepare for and respond to outbreaks. Thanks to @NPHIKenya and key partners supporting in this process.

Kenya through KNPHI aims to join countries that have completed NAPHS,which contain national-level plans to address known gaps in health security that involves building resilient health systems capable of preventing,detecting, and responding to threats such as infectious diseases.

#Amref’s Project THRIVE, in collaboration with the @County19Nyeri - Department of Health, has achieved remarkable success through the Rapid Results Initiative on Social Health Authority and Social Health Insurance Fund registration. This initiative, launched by @GovernorKahiga on February 5, has made significant strides in just five days. 21,883 residents registered increasing coverage from 24% to 36%.
