It is deeply disappointing that the administration of @VUKampala has remained silent during such a painful moment, following the loss of a registered student Comrade Kiptoo Ian, who passed away during the examination period. Students requested for a university bus 🚌 to support the burial arrangements, yet this plea was denied by the Dean of Students Nasiwa , @bukyanajulius2 in collaboration with the Vice Chancellor @ReachDrMuganga and certain guild leaders @UncleEmma256 , @ShillahBlessed . If the university cannot stand in solidarity with a student who paid millions in tuition fees, what message does that send to the students who are still on campus? To make matters worse, the administration has scheduled presentations on the very day Comrade Ian is to be laid to rest, showing a lack of empathy toward the student community. We urge the university to act responsibly and compassionately. The welfare of students should always be a top priority. Allowing students to give their colleague a proper send-off is not only humane but necessary for unity and healing. We appeal to the administration to address this matter promptly, because how the university responds will reflect its values not only within Uganda but across Africa.

We were privileged to meet with Counsel @MarieTBei and her team from @TMBEI_Advocates and @Pactpanug Pan African Catholic Theology and Pastoral Network ( PACTPAN) to device ways of tackling the pervasive issue of human trafficking in our country. We explored collaborative strategies to establish Anti-Human Trafficking Clubs in schools nationwide, leveraging debate, literature, and arts to raise awareness and educate the masses. Our discussion also emphasized the importance of engaging all stakeholders, including government, religious leaders, and civil society, to create a united front against this scourge. With World AIDS Day on December 1st marking the launch of our project, we're gearing up for a series of initiatives. Stay tuned!
