People vastly overuse Michelin as a signal for food quality! Most places now pay to get in the guide: Dubai, Miami, Atlanta, Austin, and Boston all paid. Boston even funds it through a hotel surcharge. …Of course France has the most Michelin restaurants. Michelin is a French tire company that started the guide 125 years ago to sell tires to French motorists. But french food isn’t better because Michelin says it is!

On food: France has 600+ Michelin Star restaurants. The US has ~200, despite a population 5x larger. A €5 bottle of wine in Spain beats a $25 bottle in California. A €2 espresso in Rome beats a $7 oat milk latte in Brooklyn. This isn't snobbery. It's math per dollar.

Rick Beato is right — only rich kids are breaking through in music these days. I remember San Francisco when regular people could start bands, rehearse cheap, and actually build national audiences. Now? Platforms like Gather let you tip great artists directly with #Bitcoin. It’s a public vote of confidence + real artistic freedom. Artists get paid what they deserve and don’t have to bow to gatekeepers. The future of music is fan-powered. What do you think?

He took a regional TV station and created cable media as we know it today. We studied him in college when my major was broadcasting. I once delivered the fax to him at the Fairmont hotel he was short and dismissive, not pleasant at all to me but that doesn’t take away what he accomplished. An amazing entrepreneur.

Is this regulation banning gas water heaters actually really happening in the entire Bay Area in California? It will turn replacing your water heater into a catastrophically expensive event “A broken water heater will soon become thousands of dollars more expensive to replace in the Bay Area, as regulators move to phase out gas-powered models.  Starting next year, many homeowners will be required to replace broken gas-powered water heaters with electric heat pump models, a swap that is on average $3,500 more expensive”
