I am not supporting Mamdani's grocery plans until he starts selling cannolis 30% cheaper than market rate. That is when I will know he is serious about helping the little guy.

@kinetic_finance After a year it goes back to 80 bytes not the 100,000 that was set 6 months ago. Bitcoin core is trying to change th me identity of Bitcoin from money to storage. And that ruins Bitcoin as a replacement to central banks

one thing i don’t get about BIP-110 if the BIP is just temporary for 1 year, and OP_RETURN restrictions disappear after/go back to today’s amount on what basis are we to believe that there will be any long term spam mitigations “created” in that 1 year? that is 365 days away. shouldn’t we be seeing some of those ideas/solutions today? why doesn’t the BIP just make the limit permanent? kinda just feels like the temporary nature is to make it more palatable… which by all metrics, doesn’t seem to be convincing as a standalone idea for noderunners or miners

@ToneVays You let bitcoin core come and change your house. They opened the OP return and increased block size.

To all the #Bip110 fans who keep saying: "It's just a few lines of code changing for the better & it's temporary! What's the big deal!" 👇👇👇 How about I come to your house & change one small thing for better safety, it can even be temporary. 👉 The LOCK w/ me holding the key.

Bitcoin has won. Now it must survive victory. Its gravest threat is not an enemy at the gates, but corruption from within: factions that invent pretexts, rewrite the rules, and seize economic rights until freedom becomes permission and law becomes loot.

@saylor Great….so we all agree that we should run bip110 so we can return to what Bitcoin was before Bitcoin core changed it 6 months ago. Core changed Bitcoin not bip110. Bip110 just returns it back to what it was before you could put high def pictures on the blockchain

Bitcoin’s core design is set in stone. Protocol changes should be rare, conservative, and driven by necessity, not ambition. Don’t fix what isn’t broken.

While Quantum computing isn't an immediate threat to Bitcoin, we're making sure Coinbase and the broader ecosystem are prepared well before a sufficiently powerful quantum computer arrives.

We’re proud to announce the launch of the Bitcoin Security Consortium, in partnership with BlackRock, Fidelity, Block, and more. Together we’ll support the long-term security of the Bitcoin network. Quantum computing is coming. Crypto needs to be ready.

@saylor Then why did bitcoin core change the rules to allow too much data on a block months ago? Where were you then?

The impulse to change Bitcoin’s rules merely to prevent others from using Bitcoin in ways you disapprove of is statist and alien to a community rooted in liberty, property rights, free markets, natural law, and Austrian economics. BIP 110 would impose monetary purity by fiat.

@GMONEYPEPE @DeptofWar It doesn’t matter. It’s called open source code. It can be changed and supported. Do you not know what open source code is?

@decentmoney2009 @MathewTyler75 @xpugHODL He may be wrong, and you may be right. But does it even matter if the opposition to 110 isnt running a URSF? You are not against BIP110 in anything you DO. You just like to run arround and post "wRoNg!1!1" on social media so you feel self important.

@xpugHODL Bitcoin needs to stay a financial transaction layer so that it stays as intended. Bitcoin is the escape hatch, not a means to make more cuck bucks. Also if you force us to put 🍆 pics on our nodes it allows govt to come and stop us from running nodes for freedom from banks

@xpugHODL By adding NFTs to Bitcoin it will take up more space on the BTC blockchain forcing node runners to buy more storage space which will decrease the amount of node runners overall. Is the bch v BTC argument again. On top of that what kinds of pictures will be on our nodes🍆🍆🍆.

"BIP110 threatens Bitcoin's neutrality" Bitcoin is neutral because its rules are enforced by a decentralized network of nodes. Its neutrality is not a result of not having any rules. Decentralized enforcement of rules is compromised and undermined profoundly if the rules are made so loose that they cannot properly prevent attacks. But rules can always be tightened to help defend decentralization of nodes and thus *maintain* Bitcoin's neutrality. BIP110 is how you prioritize decentralization and thus neutrality. It is not a "slippery slope to subjective enforcement of rules" as opponents insist. It is the exact opposite. The centralizing pressure of parasitic "use cases" for Bitcoin have placed us on the path to subjectivity. BIP110 is one a many efforts made by Bitcoiners to correct course and ensure decentralization is made the number one priority.
