@Samstricko181 @daisychristo Happening already in IB, the resourcing of this is a huge challenge, let alone the philosophy.

@MrLeeBates @olicav What's not immediately obvious is how it was built left to right (guessable) but also layered on, and repeated or returned too and idea that wasn't on a previous slide.
I often marvel at others lovely boardwork knowing I could be better.
What's your take/interest in the area?
English

@MrLeeBates @olicav Hi @MrLeeBates l, I was struck by the organisation and the way the problem unfolded. Input from students, important ideas recorded and the entire lesson in one shot. Like some sort of story board, and I just thought it was beautiful
Likely you know more about design principles

I made a bunch of posters for a #maths timeline. I printed them A4 for the length of a corridor...
Here they are if you would like to personalise, download and print! They look great on photo quality paper

@MrZachG I agree. Very happy to buy @greg_ashman a coffee for his insights (a very good deal!)

I love these Curios. I literally only pay for one Substack and it’s for this.

@Mr_Raichura @RufusWilliam Very intrigued by this. I'll dig a little more into the docu, it's impressive stuff.
English

@RufusWilliam Thanks Rufus! Appreciate the kind words. The Y11 group above is not (they all did Higher paper) but the Y8 class in the documentary is mixed.

I have been with these wonderful kids for 5 years, first as their form tutor & then as their science teacher.
Today, every single one of them opened their science GCSE results to find they achieved the top grade: 9-9.
I couldn’t be prouder of their hard work.

@SuzanneRelou @mrbartonmaths @mathsjem @PaulRodrigo2718 Only chatGPT to tidy up my writing for now! You can quickly adapt curriculum statements etc. into myp language.
W/good prompting I imagine lots you can do for docs . I'm skeptical on lesson planning, through I have used it with moderate success to replicate question sets
English

Is anyone using AI to help with curriculum planning, unit/lesson planning, assignment planning etc? If so what are you finding helpful and what are you using it for? Thanks! @mrbartonmaths @mathsjem @MathsTweetcher @PaulRodrigo2718

@mrallanmaths @ShakinthatChalk @UKLabour I know how you feel, I'm exactly the same. I think I can justify scheduling by saying, if you get an email at 7am and want to respond the following evening, no problem. If it's urgent I'll come and find you in the morning - very few things are that urgent for email, I think.
English

I never contact my staff out of hours. If I have emails to send they get scheduled for 7am the next day.
My staff go home able to switch off.
The fact that countries legislate for this should tell you something. Good to see @UKLabour getting on board with it.

BBC News, "Are you sick of getting emails from your boss outside of work hours?" "Here in the UK the Labour government are introducing a new policy to address that. It is called the right to switch off" What do you think, a good idea or a bad idea?
English

@InteractMaths @SuzanneRelou @DanielPearcy @ellenthompsonca @BeckyHall75 @PaulRodrigo2718 @plr141 Yes, I would have said previously you have to work to get less than 6 points, but I came across one.
English

@MathsTweetcher @SuzanneRelou @DanielPearcy @ellenthompsonca @BeckyHall75 @PaulRodrigo2718 @plr141 Interestingly, the opposite also seems to be true. I gave a 4 this year, but it was moderated up to a 6. Apparently it is virtually impossible to get less than 1 in every criteria.
English

Hope you all had good IBDP results this session! Any reflections so far? @BeckyHall75 @DanielPearcy @MathsTweetcher @InteractMaths @PaulRodrigo2718 @plr141
English

@SuzanneRelou @DanielPearcy @ellenthompsonca @InteractMaths @BeckyHall75 @PaulRodrigo2718 @plr141 In the end I decided they were missing a fuller explanation of the mathematics of catenary but if I am honest I think I would have liked to give 20 for an SL student but didn't want to risk a downward moderation for the cohort.
English

@SuzanneRelou @DanielPearcy @ellenthompsonca @InteractMaths @BeckyHall75 @PaulRodrigo2718 @plr141 General principles, which it pains me to say. Few if any get more than 18 and full marks in C D or E are all but impossible.
I did have one student get 19 and I scrutinized it in every attempt to work out where I could be wrong.
