Goods bought online Even where the consumer changes their mind, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) gives consumers a 7-day cooling-off period to return goods without providing a reason, provided the transaction was concluded electronically. Dear @MatlouMBS, Strictly speaking, “no return” or “no refund” policies are not permitted under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). The CPA provides consumers with several rights that allow them to return goods and receive a refund under specific circumstances. These include: Section 20 Applies where the consumer purchased goods without having an opportunity to inspect them. If, upon inspection, the goods do not meet the consumer’s reasonable expectations, the consumer has 10 business days to return the goods and receive a full refund. Section 56 (Implied Warranty of Quality) Consumers have six months to return defective goods. The consumer may choose the remedy they prefer (refund, replacement, or repair). Section 16 (Cooling-off for Direct Marketing) Where goods were purchased as a result of direct marketing, consumers may return the goods within 5 business days after receiving them and receive a full refund. @cgsombud Can we get a view on establishments not accepting returns after 7 days and no refunds after 30 days, no money back basically you can only exchange. We need to keep this with us because we are tired of explaining and fighting.

@cgsombud Is there any way we can have a view of the ombuds on automatic 10% added to our bills at some establishments! Is this legal and can we refuse paying for it. We are not told upfront that is the case.

In July, we shutdown trading at the Marabastad Retail Market because most of the traders were non-compliant. We were back at the market today for some good news. Trading has resumed. The City has worked with vendors to train them and to ensure they complied with by-laws. Traders have certificates of acceptability and first aid kits visible inside their stalls. They’ll all be issued with trading certificates. When we shutdown this market our intention was not to kill small businesses. Our objective is to ensure that businesses that operate in Tshwane do so lawfully in the best interest of the public. Along with MMC for Economic Development and Spatial Planning, Cllr Sarah Mabotsa, we are pleased with the work done by officials to turn this market around. @CityTshwane

@GamingNaRoli I booked my mother in law on Friday and they gave her Tuesday appointment for cancer treatment unfortunately she passed on a month later because she was on stage 4 when she discovered, but Gauteng facilities are top class, don't be fooled

My aunt has been waiting for over 6 years now... My uncle passed away before they could help him, I remember my olady having to go there before the hospital even opens with him but they would leave at night still not getting help. But yea, we have to see this PR here.. 😂😂

@HealthZA No doubt we have excellent doctors in SA. Its the service and lack of capacity and resources in hospitals we have a problem with. Can that be the focus for government !!!!!!
