I’ve been sitting on a few animal shots since my birthday last Sept. I finally got around to looking at them and editing a few. Here’s a beautiful #fox, and if you zoom in, you can see him showing some cute little teeth! I tried to bring up the shadows a touch more, so the teeth were more apparent. TAT confirms that URAs biggest ever misguided assessment of UGX 1.5 Trillion against MTN is no more. This is a good precedent from @TaxAppealug. So URA conducts an audit, shows liability of UX 1.5 Trillion. After reconciliation, issues assessment of 260bn, MTN objects. Then URA issues another audit finding on momo for 560bn, no assessment is issued and no objection is filed. URA then issues objection decision, setting aside the 260b but then upholding the momo tax at 169bn. TAT ruling says: 1. No requirement to pay 30% because dispute is on process as to legality of whether URA can issue objection decision without assessment and objection thereto. 2. No objection decision be issued in absence of an objection. 3. Temporary injunction is issued against recovery. The best thing here is that TAT confirms that the original assessment of 1.5 Trillion was finally resolved in favour of MTN with no single shilling to pay. @TonyNatif had covered the whole saga of how this assessment arose. Congratulations to @KAAdvocates for having defended a 1.5 Trillion tax to zero liability in conjunction with S&L. @BruceMusinguziK.
