Japanese class. We had to pick a Japanese name to use for the rest of the year. Two guys near the front went first. Guy 1: I'll just call myself Ching Chong or something. Guy 2: That's what I was going to pick. Me: Those aren't real names. Either of them. Guy 1: Shut up. You don't know anything about Japanese. Me: (in Japanese) You dare challenge me. Guy 2: What the hell did you just say. Me: (in Swedish) "You dare challenge me" in Japanese. Guy 1: You made that up. Those were fake words. The teacher walked in. We went down the class list picking names. Most people stumbled. Made things up. Shrugged. Teacher: Your turn. What are you going with. Me: Shiro Kishi. Teacher: (pause) Teacher: White Knight. That sounds like something straight out of My Little Pony. Me: That's right. Teacher: (nodded like this was completely acceptable) The two guys from earlier just stared. This teacher was known for being terrifying. I looked at the girl sitting next to me. Dressed entirely in black. Had been watching the whole thing without saying a word. Me: (in Japanese) I'm Shiro Kishi. Just call me Shiro. Her: (in Japanese) If you're the White Knight I'll be Kuro Kishi. Black Knight. Call me Kuro. Teacher: (looked at both of us) Teacher: I'm giving you both an A for the year. Me: Arigato sensei. Turns out she was also a My Little Pony fan. We started dating after that class. For the rest of the year the three of us discussed the latest episodes in Japanese during class specifically to drive the bullies insane. Me: (still think about Shiro and Kuro sometimes) Me: (White Knight found his Black Knight in Japanese class) Me: (of all places)

Nuclear Take: Going to say something very harsh but true This entire drama will indirectly cause manga authors to never put black characters in their stories again. Why add something that will likely cause unnecessary drama at this point It creates a chilling effect for anyone seeing it. So authors and artists will actively avoid it.

marathon does literally everything better than arc raiders but unfortunately arc raiders is made to appeal to the widest demographic possible, and marathon is not

@toANDbeyonder @EndymionYT I'd recommend it. One of the DLC's explores an alternate ending. One of the DLC's is a weird platformer. The other two advance the story and are great. One of those is even a nod to Bioshock 1.

PLATINUM TROPHY 207: ATOMIC HEART I actually didn’t think I could do this cause I was worried about the collectibles but I got it done! Beat Armageddon mode & everything pretty easily too. The Pashet sword is the best weapon in the game by far. You use that to kill basically everything no problem. Beyond that the Kalash assault rifle is really good too. The telekinesis/shield combo for powers is OP as well. Great game! Really enjoyed it. Very weird. Ending is great too. I’m gonna play some of the DLC’s but I won’t 100% that I’ll just play em get whatever & then I’m done. Looking forward to the sequel! 8/10

@EndymionYT It's definitely a weird game but it grew on me. They have a DLC that's a sort of homage to Bioshock 1 which I liked.

I’ve been finally playing Atomic Heart & it’s a WEIRD ass game. It’s like if Bioshock got drunk off vodka & the main character is related to Duke Nukem meets BJ from Wolfenstein At first the humor didn’t work for me, but now I’m catching myself saying “Crispy Critters” randomly. Weird ass game tho keen to keep going tho I have so many games to catch up on man. What are some nice SHORT games that are very good in your opinion? Lmk

I know this is unpopular, but it will always be unattractive for a grown man to play video games. Some women might be understanding or pretend like they don’t care that you spend hours playing, but they do. It is extremely unattractive to women and will never not be. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Vara_Dark At the very least, people shouldn't be lying about this game's themes to trick people into buying it.

If we were getting higher level storytelling in our entertainment, Saros wouldn’t have been reacted to so poorly. A lead character turning out to be a villainous figure would be interesting. The issue is the anti-male rhetoric so commonly pushed in games and movies now. You find out he was an abusive, evil man and that’s why his wife left him. He REFUSES to let her go because he’s self-centered and controlling. She felt so traumatized by a man she fell into the arms of a woman. But throughout the game there are logs that push this further that talk about finding it difficult to escape in such a bad world. If this was the first game to have this angle in a long time, people wouldn’t care that much. But there is a very noticeable pattern happening, especially with Sony games. People shouldn’t be circulating fake AI images. They don’t need to. The games narrative speaks for itself.
