If it’s true that Maurice’s backer chose (or was forced ) to stop backing him, Maurice’s makeup figure should have been wiped clean.
I’ve been in both sides of staking for 30 years. If the backer chooses to stop backing the player, the makeup figure is washed clean. This is regular practice in the poker world.

I’ll say it… I have no clue who George Gervin is or was in regard to basketball. 🏀 I’m not the biggest NBA fan but I’ve never even heard of him before all of this “Iceman” nonsense. Not sure why the uproar in regards to Caleb Williams attempting to make a business decision that it sounds like Gervin should have attempted before. Williams, his family and his business team owe nothing to Gervin. Go get your paper if you can!

Players sometimes don't realize the game changed and continue with high hands like aces up.
I've seen multiple people actually bust over this confusion
Also having the button games separated causes issues with the blinds if people come and go between the holdem and Omaha rounds
