I still vividly remember when this song came out and there was this weeks-long discourse about how the music video was supposedly an incredible work of art and deep cultural commentary about racism and gun violence in America. And it's literally just a black dude dancing around and shooting random people.

I feel like this picture will be in history books. Two elements that will renew American culture coming together: sound money and sound government.

Ask most boomers about whether the global population is too big and most of them will say yes, it's an urgent problem. Ask anyone born in or after the mid 70's and they'll tell you it's taking care of itself, and population collapse is likely a bigger problem. This is because the boomers were fed an ideology called malthusianism that predicted hundreds of millions of people would die of starvation by the 1970's due too many people taking up too many resources. Now, it's acknowledged that humans just innovate and do more with less. Instead, we've seen food become more plentiful than at any point in history. But many boomers still panic over the population because it's so hardwired into them. I can't help but imagine the same thing will happen with Millennials regarding co2 emissions. in 50 years we'll find that we just side stepped all the environmental 'collapse' scenarios, but tens of millions of millennials will still think they're fighting a battle for global survival.

One of the best things to die off with the boomers will be the evil malthusian belief that fewer humans = progress.

Of all the predictions in which I place low confidence, the economic predictions of people in San Francisco who work in AI are the lowest. I'm gonna boot up the old Quest 2s and take one final spin through the old hood. This week. Someday someone will truly figure the Metaverse out. I knew Meta hadn't done it within 2 seconds of first logging in unfortunately. Too soft and nerfed up and cartoony. As all of the great cyberpunk authors predicted, the real Metaverse will be an edgy and startling place with a lot of marginal people doing shadowy things - just like the early internet.

The patriotic thing is to divest yourself from those doing evil, and prepare your energy for building the next stage, after their destruction has run its course.
