If you're looking to learn about what goes into creating a #SocialEnterprise, you can start with the social business model canvas. It's a great tool for getting an overview of how a social business works and how it fits together. Learn here: youtu.be/8aPGXqLZCS0 #SocEnt

@DrewDavisHere @Bonini84 @jayacunzo @KateBour @JoePulizzi If you give me a couple examples of people or ideas you would consider core to current marketing advice, I could see if I have any sources that run counter-cultural to them. Everything exists in such subcultures these days I can sometimes have a hard time seeing the mainstream.

@DrewDavisHere @Bonini84 @jayacunzo @KateBour @JoePulizzi I think this is increasingly important as more questions don't have right answers, but a variety of answers that may work based on context. Playing out the philosophy and biases of each possible path of action, as well as their potential consequences is a storyteller skill.

@DrewDavisHere @Bonini84 @jayacunzo @KateBour @JoePulizzi That is a more interesting question. That's where discernment and experience come in. When the answer to a question is "it depends" and we can point to the factors that play into a decision or concept, weighing pros/cons and providing context, that is where magic happens.

@DrewDavisHere @jayacunzo @KateBour I think part of why it doesn't look new is because a lot of her writing gets repurposed elsewhere by other people often without attribution (see the original problem).

@MatthewRempel @jayacunzo I don't know @katebour's work. But from the look of her tweet stream, I don't see any new thinking there. (Is there something specific I should be reading of hers?)

@MatthewRempel @jayacunzo Who's pushing it to be better, and what are they doing? I truly want to know. (BTW, I see the automation and optimization game as well. It's a race to the bottom.)

The biggest mistake we make as marketers is solving for the wrong problems. Choosing the right problem will *prevent* fires instead of putting them out. Here are 5 questions that will improve the quality of your ideas:

I had the opportunity to be part of the team that work with K-Lumet as a part of an earlier round of the #IRP. If you're a Canadian organization looking to explore social enterprise (SE) or develop an existing SE, you should take a look at the IRP. communityfoundations.ca/k-lumet/

@PRisUs Having worked in a newsroom, reporters always have a deadline, and they don't like having to call twice. If you're not immediately ready and available when you said you were or were asked to be ready, you might miss your chance and you probably won't be invited back.

@jayacunzo I think there are huge value adds that can be provided with a well organized live event. Keeping recordings can contribute to a healthy collection of content, but I agree the core experience has to be different when *being part of* a live event, vs. watching a recording.
