Hey folks, earlier today, a post went out from our X account that we didn't publish. We've since removed it, and are looking into what happened.
If you clicked the link, take steps to ensure your laptop doesn't have malicious software installed.
Thank you to everyone who flagged this so quickly, we appreciate you!

Great question! I'll check with the team to see if that's possible. The truth is that at the moment our system expects media files that are 'ready to go' - like the post office expects a parcel ready to be delivered. I suspect that having our systems unwrap, sort, reject and repackage the uploads would be a big challenge - yet it would definitely make life easier!

I inadvertently tried to upload a zip archive to @Buffer and it threw this validation. Was just wondering why doesn't buffer internally unarchive and take the acceptable files for posting and preparing a notes of rejected files!

@buffer It seems likely that's what happened. Now I know to have everything selected before I start. 😁 I'll let you know if it happens again. 👍

Weird. Used @buffer to post to two social media services at once and it posted different version to each of them. ???? I had edited the tweet, only pressed submit once, but it posted the correct version here and an an older version, which wasn't even around anymore, there.

Thanks for sharing, Gene! I think we've got to the bottom of this one.
When a second channel is added after you've already started writing, Buffer splits the post into a separate version for each network. So once they're split, edits you make to the original won't always carry across to the second channel's copy. I've attached a recording.
Could this be what happened here, Gene? Would you mind letting me know if it happens again? - Mel

@buffer Anyway, I haven't used Buffer in many years, but got tired of cross-posting by hand. I have to learn to navigate the changes.

@Lucas7yoshi_RS @oilmoneyfcdan Ah, that makes sense. I too am not a designer but will flag it for our designers to take a look. Appreciate you digging into this and for the screenshots. 💛If anything else comes up, just give us a shout! - Mel

@buffer @oilmoneyfcdan Yeah probably if i had to guess, I think i goofed when clicking the thread button.
It's in the exact spot it is when theres no toggle (like if you select BSky first) so thats probably how it happened. Im not UX engineer so im not sure if this is a realistic issue to address :p

@Lucas7yoshi_RS @oilmoneyfcdan Hi, Lucas! This needs to be toggled on when you're creating a post within your Buffer dashboard to be marked as AI, wondering if you tapped it by accident! Here's more: support.buffer.com/article/958-fl… Hope this helps 🤗 -Lexi

@oilmoneyfcdan thats a great question, i blame @buffer idk why that was checked lmfao

@DerekColley_ Woohoo, great news, Derek! Sorry this wasn't more clear/intuitive, but thanks for letting us know! We're here if you need anything else 🤗 -Lexi

@buffer
On android, your app is unusable !
During compose, the next / done button is hidden
When viewing a screenshot the whole app is a brick

@khalilliouane @Substack Hi Khalil, I'm afraid the Substack API doesn't support a service like Buffer yet, but we're keeping a close eye on it: suggestions.buffer.com/p/substack-not… :) -Juliet

Hi Derek - Just following up here. This is actually the expected behavior on Android. Once you're done typing, you'll need to dismiss the keyboard before being able to hit Next. Our team will see if we can improve this and have the bottom bar float above the keyboard. Thanks again for flagging this. -Ben
English

@DerekColley_ Thanks for confirming that, Derek! We'll take a look at this and will follow up once we have more information. -Ben
English

@DerekColley_ Thanks so much for this info, Derek! Would you mind letting us know which version of the app and which version of the operating system you're on? Thank you! -Lexi

I plugged @buffer into my tech stack. (not a paid ad)
Spent 2 days automating my entire distribution pipeline
No more wasting coding hours trying to build in public manually
Now shipping updates run 90% on autopilot
Thanks @joelgascoigne for this!

Got posts accessible to Siri AI in @buffer.
As Buffer doesn’t fit within any of Apple’s App Schema Domains, it’s still not entirely clear to me what’s possible from here.

Hey Alle, thanks for the fair and valuable review! Where you've shared we fall short on Instagram are very reasonable critiques. We'll get to work on those!
A couple of things to mention:
- There's no catch! At least that's not how we operate, we're really trying to provide a lot of value and have a long-term journey with customers.
- Analytics are currently in a little bit of an in-between. We have our new Insights in beta, available to enable for anyone at all by going to Account → Beta Features. Insights will eventually fully replace Analyze, and is already more powerful in a number of ways. We'll also include a portion of analytics on the free plan going forward. This is why the current experience (Analyze, in a new tab) feels a bit awkward. I can assure you the Insights experience will be significantly better than Analyze within a few months, and we'll drop that new tab experience.
- We're adding more AI-enhancements to the product over time, but our large recent focus was on launching our API, which comes with MCP (and CLI). So you can now connect Buffer directly with ChatGPT or Claude and brainstorm with your AI chat, and once you have a post you can push it directly to your Queue or Ideas. More details here: buffer.com/api.
And by the way, let me know if you have any questions for me, happy to answer.
