Matthew 19:9:
Now I tell you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.
I know there are differing interpretations of this.
I do not believe that Yeshua's intent is to relegate divorcees to a lifetime of forced, unwanted celibacy.
So, some 16-year-old makes a mistake, gets married, and gets divorced, God expects that person to stay unmarried and celibate for their whole life?
I believe Yeshua's intent is to show us God's ultimate and perfect plan for marriage. By saying "From the beginning divorce was not so", He is referring to Edenic perfection.
But we don't live in Eden. There is sin in the world, and mistakes are made.
And on this side of the Kingdom, there is always room for repentance and forgiveness, and moving forward from a mistake.
So if divorcees are repentant and remarry, no, they are not committing adultery, even though their remarriage is not in line with Edenic perfection.
This is my interpretation and I know that others disagree.

Biggest terrorists in the world. They’re using the Iran War as cover for their invasion of Lebanon. Our troops are used as distraction. American media has zero criticism of the new ethnic cleansing they’re doing in southern Lebanon. It’s insane that we’re funding the terrorists.

BREAKING. Israel is blowing up entire civilian homes in Naqoura, South Lebanon right now. Civilian homes. No military target. No justification. Just pure terror and destruction. This is a war crime in broad daylight. And the world watches in silence.

@JosiahForYeshua Keith’s Mentor towards the end of his life was Leonard Ravinhill, my dad knew him very well.

@realmikolson I disagree. I’m definitely not a Catholic, but it takes humility to do that.

@JosiahForYeshua @gershando It’s important to point people to act 19 where James describes many Jewish believers being zealous for the law.

Yeshua observed the feasts Himself because He is a Jew who lived according to God’s Torah. Likewise, we see Paul’s example where he tries really hard to be in Jerusalem for Shavuot (the Feast of Weeks/Pentecost, Acts 20:16). God still cares about Israel (including Jewish believers!) observing the feasts just as much as He cared when He first instituted these holy days with our ancestors. Now, does that mean that Gentile believers are now need to celebrate the Jewish holy days? Not really. There’s certainly a welcoming of all believers into the Passover season because “our Passover—Messiah—was also sacrificed so that we may keep the Feast” (1Co. 5:7-8); and when Yeshua comes back and establishes the Messianic Reign, all the nations will participate in Sukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles) to annually worship God in Jerusalem (Zec. 14:16). But there’s no need for Gentile believers today to feel the weight of obligation to do things that God commanded to Israel, because these are specifically appointments that God made between Himself and the sons of Israel. If you feel led to share with Jewish believers in their festivals, you’re free and welcome to do that; and if you don’t do that, then don’t sweat it (Col. 2:16)! Jewish believers should live as Jews, and Gentile believers should live as Gentiles (1Co. 7:18), and we should all be united as one and work together to serve God by following His commands and building the Body of Messiah.
I hope this helps! Blessings and shalom!

@KenRoth As an Augustinian, he clearly knows that is not the historical record of the Catholic Church…

Speaking the language of zealots, Trump’s defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, says U.S. troops in Iran are fighting for Jesus. The more sober Pope Leo disagrees. The Pope says military domination is “entirely foreign to the way of Jesus Christ.” trib.al/08T8HPs

@JosiahForYeshua @nosoup4knowles I’m a gentile, and you are my brother! And I love God’s plans for Israel and I want to be a part of their glorious redemption!

To all the people just tuning in:
Hi. I’m a Messianic Jew, which means I’m a Jew who believes that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah.
Yes, I’m really Jewish.
Yes, I really do love Jesus.
No, the two aren’t incompatible, and I don’t stop being Jewish when I believe in Yeshua.
Yes, it’s not unheard of for Jews to follow Yeshua, just like how all the apostles were Jewish followers of Yeshua, along with tens of thousands more Jewish believers (Acts 21:20). Jewish believers like me (and @SethDillon) are still around.
No, God has not ended His covenant relationship with the people of Israel (the Jewish ethnicity)—in evidence of that fact, because God always preserves a remnant.
No, I don’t believe that Jews automatically go to Heaven; the only way to salvation for Jew and Gentile alike is through faith in Yeshua, not through ethnicity or good works.

Resources and safety. The mentality in the early days allowed for huge risks, of which too many space missions went wrong. The public has little appetite for space deaths. Apollo was pushing everything right on the edge of catastrophe. It was not a sustainable system. Elons system will solve the sustainability problem. 1/10 of the cost.

@wordsofthislife Correct, but the promise was through Isaac and Jacob which was named Israel. Abraham had other wives and children.
