@NormieUtah Water. 💦. Priority #1 If they were good stewards, they’d improve the land, community, and play for the future water needs. Build in a structure where these groups pay for imported water. Like yesterday.

MIDA doesn‘t operate in secret, they just operate under the radar. Governor Cox is in charge with 5 of 7 board appointments but he doesn’t even know it.😵‍💫 Reality is MIDA operates as a shadow taxing and bonding developer run by Stuart Adams and Jerry Stevenson. Both are huge legacy landowners in No. Utah. I’m not suggesting anything intentionally nafarious. I’m sure they think they are doing a good job. But the nature of even do-gooder bureaucracies is to grow themselves way beyond any original purpose. Adams and Stevenson are from the “if a little economic development is good, more is always better” school of thought. They are wrong. Two people should not have this much power. But they control how every dollar of Utah tax money is spent. Cross them and you are toast. MIDA needs a leash. 5 of 7 board members are just along for the ride. By design. They wrote the law.

The fall of Portland, Oregon Here are major retailers that left Portland over declining conditions due to Democrat policies from 2022–2026 - Nike Community Factory Store (Operated since 1984, 40 years) Closed permanently because of 276 shoplifting reports in one year. They cited deteriorating public safety. Nike sent a letter to the mayor citing conditions - Walmart (Both Portland Locations)
580 employees laid off - Target (Three Stores)
Reason: Explicitly cited organized retail crime and shoplifting - REI
Reason: Highest break-in rate in two decades; over $800,000 spent on extra security in 2022 (including multiple incidents, one with a vehicle through the doors on Black Friday) - U.S. Bank (U.S. Bancorp Tower) Announced it would not renew its long-term lease
Building Sale: Sold in July 2025 for $45 million (down from $372 million in 2015 — ~88% value decline). - Wells Fargo
Announced plans to exit Portland - Starbucks
Closed at least 5–6 Portland locations in September 2025 alone. - Nordstrom Rack (Downtown)
 - CVS Pharmacy (SW Broadway) Reason: Employee cited shoplifting as a factor Malls Major Retail Centers also closed Pioneer Place Mall: Once had roughly 100 stores. It’s now down to 20. Described as a “dead mall.” • Lloyd Center Mall: Confirmed for full demolition. Now 90% vacant PacWest Center: Sold October 2025 for $55.7 million (down from $170 million in 2016. That’s a 67% drop) - Montgomery Park: Sold August 2024 for $33 million (down from $255 million in 2019, that’s a 87% drop)

NOBODY IS TELLING YOU HOW FUCKED THE FARMERS ARE IN AMERICA RIGHT NOW. The Agriculture Secretary just confirmed it publicly. 1 in 4 American farmers has NO fertilizer secured for spring planting. No fertilizer. No crops. No food. Farm bankruptcies are up 46% in 2025. 160,000 farms closed since 2017. Less than half of all farmers will even turn a profit this year. They're not struggling. They're being wiped out. And the media is busy covering everything else. The real story behind this hasn't been told yet.. follow me because i'm about to tell it 🚨

I've always liked @GovCox, even when I politically disagreed with him - but he's changed, he's more Trumpian, he's cutting backroom deals, he's tilting further to the right every day. He's turning dirty, and can't be trusted as a leader any longer. #disappointed #utpol

Before reading a single word of @Deseret's SCOTUS story, they've already signaled how they feel… When the Left can't beat a Conservative Black man's argument, they attack his Blackness. What a disgusting editorial choice of a photo for the Deseret News to choose to run. This is the sort of sleight of hand racism Black Conservatives have come to expect from the left. It’s upsetting to see it again from the news organization that prides itself as being a “trusted voice of light and truth.” Utah and your audience deserve better. A sign invoking Thurgood Marshall to shame Justice Clarence Thomas for thinking independently is demeaning. It’s not journalism but racial policing with a press credential. @Deseret, this is 2026… You should be ashamed of yourself.

This Supreme Court just gutted the Voting Rights Act, opening the door to more racial gerrymandering. This is unacceptable, and Congress must act to protect it.  If the Court won’t protect one of our most fundamental rights, we need a new Voting Rights Act strong enough to stop politicians from picking their voters and silencing communities of color.

INBOX: @GovCox has announced the final list of nominees for the two new seats on the Utah Supreme Court. You'll remember that the legislature expanded the court from 5 to 7 seats earlier this year.

Our democracy is on the line. The Supreme Court has severely weakened protections that civil rights leaders and activists fought and died for. Congress must act to ensure fair representation in every state. If we do nothing, millions of Americans will have their voices in our nation’s governance silenced. apnews.com/article/suprem…

I am a Black woman in elected office in Utah and today I am angry. The Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act. 6-3. April 29, 2026. They handed states a loophole. Call your discriminatory map “partisan” instead of racial and you walk free. Justice Kagan said it plainly in her dissent: states can now dilute minority voting power without any legal consequence. They are counting on you to feel defeated and stay home, that is the only way they win. Show up anyway.

@SeparateAndFree I spent seven consecutive years in two war zones trying to prevent Iraqi and Afghan neighbors from killing each other. I want our nation to remain indivisible. We fought one Civil War that left … 750,000 dead — equivalent of 6-7M today.
