@Baloney_and @Dexerto License plates aren’t new but they used to be deterministic and had a human in the loop. These new systems have AI during the whole pipeline and is being sold as infallible when in reality is far from it.

@AustyUSA @GreenTexanEV @JeebsTX Yeah the ChargePoint home unit is also rather expensive. Tesla straddles a nice in between the premium chargers and the budget options (Emporia, Grizzl-E, etc)

UPDATE: Since May, Tesla has quietly increased the price of its Wall Connector from $465 to $535 — a 15% price increase.
Even after the hike, it’s still $265 cheaper than Rivian’s $800 home charger.

Far too generous, I fixed it. This is for people who prioritize avoiding heat and humidity but who do not mind cloud cover or chilly weather. Also known as Homo sapiens who are able to use animal skins or textiles on their bodies to mediate environmental conditions.

Far too generous, it's really closer to something like this. 60-80F, a lower dewpoint, and a max cloud cover rule.

There is no statistically significant long-term degradation difference between heavy Supercharger use and mostly home charging I don’t have home charging and my Cybertruck gets fast food only. Doing just fine!

If I'm driving my Lightning, this is ideal hotel charging. Tesla off-peak is often cheaper than often outrageous hotel AC charging and I'd actually get a full charge. (Plug in on arrival, unload / get settled, then run down and unplug in an hour or so - can top off in the morning while getting out the door if needed.)

@B3nL1pman Ford stopped making an electric truck and yes, I believe R1T sell behind the Cybertruck. Still impressive startup automaker sells more than GM and that R1S leads entirely in its class

@MaxPatten Trucks? Aren’t they 3rd in electric pickup truck sales behind Tesla and Ford? I agree with the leader in 3 row electric SUV category…just until Kia and Hyundai pass them which will be soon.

Negativity to Rivian in the Tesla community is bonkers. They are in a precarious financial spot but they’ve gone from best selling in niche luxury segment to designing the extremely well received mainstream R2. They are primed for making it at scale. Won’t be easy.

@KnepkinKipper I guess they can be? Most Rivian fans I see are just EV enthusiasts. Rivian’s CEO also isn’t as divisive as Tesla’s. They’ve deliberately stayed out of the political fray unlike Elon. I think there’s benefit to that.

@MaxPatten I mean it goes both ways right? Rivian community on Reddit can lean anti-Tesla and anti-Musk. Need to be rooting for both to accelerate the world to sustainable energy.

UHF is bad right now but the brand has so much more than “basically driving itself”. I agree they have to improve it if autonomy is a core pillar of their business. They have other IP valuable to VW like the electronic architecture that appears to work well for cost saving.

I know you’re using it responsibly, but holy cow, feels really easy for someone to use it maliciously, ya know?
