Computers can't calculate true continuous limits where dt->0; they have to use discrete, quantized slices of time. That's btw, I'm more into watching the limit of floating point arithmetic, f64 type trying to represent these decimals. I like the numbers pattern.

I'm thinking that because of automatic programming certain complicated and elegant programs we wrote in the past may basically become a form of art for future generations. Like the manuscript books of the middle age for us.

I seriously dont get the hate for DLSS5. Even though DLSS5 does enhance the appearance to some extent, the result is still a much more natural look. I'm well aware of the argument that this alters the developers' style, but 1) everyone is free to disable DLSS, and 2) I hardly believe that visible improvements fundamentally change the atmosphere. So far, every image has been fine by me.

@LukasHozda the primary value of a *programmer* is his programs. (Whether people agree or not), now that level is being abstracted away. The bar for what is needed has shifted from *good* code to *working* code. Because it is cheaper and more feasible. The technicians need to move on.

I am depressed about AI vibe-slopping because we programmers used to own the code we wrote, we used to talk to another and we used to be more explorative. With AI, you are discouraged from using less known libraries or approaches, AI just gravitates towards the mean

We don't speak much about the TERRIBLE textbooks we had as kids studying math. Bad & few examples, crazy exercises and no explanatory reference solutions. This is the cause of the math trauma people have until they die.

languages choose indexing rules, file formats choose numbering rules. Arrays start at index 0. In .obj files, indices start at 1. If we don't subtract 1 from every index we read, our engine crashes (true story just happened) called a "index out of bounds" error.
