I’m excited to announce the publication of my first book chapter! #InTheFight explores the little known stories of Australians who served in the Far East during the #SWW. I feel so proud to have contributed to this work alongside so many talented authors! 📸@KarlJames_1945

Such a pleasure to have researched and written this incredibly moving story during my time at the @AWMemorial. Stories like these show the contemporary impact of war and its aftermath, and remind us of enduring legacies of loss and remembrance.

A moving personal story about the research & significance of the @AWMemorial's Last Post Ceremony. This particular story of Private Hal Buttsworth, 2/19th Battalion, was written by @Meghan1_Adams. #WeHaveWays canberratimes.com.au/story/8849126/…

Wonderful book launch yesterday of “In the Fight: Australians and the War in Burma” @ The Shrine of Remembrance. Many contributors were present, including my @AWMemorial colleagues @Meghan1_Adams @anthea_gunn & Alexandra Torrens, as well as children of veterans. #WeHaveWays

Was fantastic to present at the @MHHVic conference today on Australian volunteers who served in Ceylon during the #SWW. Such an interesting day filled with plenty of fascinating talks, all taking place in such a beautiful heritage building!

An education in history @UOW was an utterly life-changing thing for me and for so many people like me. Those historians taught me to read the world more adroitly and encouraged me to dream bigger. For them, and for their students (current and future), this is devastating.
Damien Cahill@DamienCahill8

Devastating, short-sighted and shamefully irresponsible announcement by @UOW management today of 135 proposed sackings, including whole teaching departments such as history. All the while the VC is a partner in a consultancy firm reviewing the university’s operations. @NTEUnion
