Good things arrive slowly, like the quiet gratitudes of a summer evening.
This one finally found its way home…

@GaryLegg12 @TopTweetTuesday @MatthewMCSmith @blackboughpoems I like the way you’ve used modifiers to convey movement in something that takes a long, long time to move. “splitter-crack”!

Here for #Elements is an earthy one. Some good reading to be had and happy holidays to Matthew!!🙂👏☀️

@MegsDregs @TopTweetTuesday @MatthewMCSmith I don’t think Whitman ever knew. He always thought the next edition of “Leaves of Grass” would be the perfect one. As for me, I knew my poem was finished because I’d used up my 80 words.. 😉
English

I’m as old as Walt Whitman in Leaves of Grass. I don’t say this disparagingly; I rather like aging. But such thoughts inspired the following.
Thanks to @TopTweetTuesday and @MatthewMCSmith for hosting.

@justrandomwords @TopTweetTuesday @MatthewMCSmith I took a liberty from this third stanza:
poetryfoundation.org/poems/45477/so…
I play a game called “I’m older than…” and it’s getting increasingly interesting with time.
But is any poem ever finished?
How do you know when yours are?
English

@MegsDregs @TopTweetTuesday @MatthewMCSmith I don’t know what you mean by the age thing. Whitman wrote “Leaves of Grass” as a young man and it is full of a young man’s vitality and optimism, though he continued to edit and add to it throughout his life. I guess you mean you are ageless. You contain multitudes.

@earthbrowne John Kerr has passed, unfortunately. Gord is the Senior Editor of the publication. If you like, I can put you on our Editorial queries callout (usually in March). DM your email if it suits, I’m the current Digital Editor, and always looking for engagement opps.

@MegsDregs Ontario Out of Doors..?
I use to know John Kerr and Gord Ellis - I think John has passed..?
Did my fair share of writing for fishing mags, back in the day..😉

Some fishy fascination for weekly #FragmentsFriday hosted by @blackboughpoems and @MatthewMCSmith. Thank you for hosting and tending the fires.

@JodiesJumpsuit I went to Kawartha Dairy, and there were only a couple tubs left. Reminds me of those little chocolate liqueurs.
