CALLING ALL VETERANS. America’s warfighters are the best in the world and AI is the most powerful tool in the world. Combine the two and the result will be a renaissance for this country. The American Tech Fellowship for Veterans (ATF-V) is about unleashing that revolution. Will you be a part of that mission?

another example of Palantir making a positive difference in the world 👇 >The House Oversight Committee is hosting a hearing titled “Using Modern Tools to Counter Human Trafficking" >In her written testimony, the ED of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), where Palantir has been supporting for over 15 years, provided this anecdote in her written testimony: A fifth child – a 14-year-old also missing from California – was reported missing to NCMEC. The child’s mother shared that before the child went missing she had tracked the child to a hotel room and confronted a man she believed was her daughter’s trafficker. The mother provided this man’s name, and NCMEC used Palantir Foundry, a data and link analysis technology tool, to further develop this information and determined it was the same man NCMEC had identified in connection with the other 4 missing children, linking all these missing child cases to one trafficker. The mother also provided the man’s online screen name, which enabled NCMEC to locate multiple online profiles with variations of the screen name shown in a tattoo on one of the missing children. Two years after the first child was reported missing and trafficked, one of the five missing children was recovered. She had been badly beaten and disclosed the name of her trafficker – which matched the name previously identified. Shortly after this disclosure, the trafficker was arrested in a known high-trafficking area in Los Angeles. He was found guilty after a 5-day trial on charges of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking with a minor; sex trafficking of a minor; sexual exploitation of a minor for the purpose of producing a sexually explicit visual depiction; possession of child pornography; and sex trafficking through threats of force, fraud, or coercion. No matter how many grifters and haters try to bring Palantir down, this company is going to continue delivering positive outcomes for the institutions and people that rely on us.

As I have grown older, Thanksgiving has become my favorite holiday. On this day, I want to share one of the greatest (underrated) passages ever written about America, from President Calvin Coolidge: “They came not merely from the shores of the Old World. It will be in vain to search among recorded maps and history for their origin. They sailed up out of the infinite. There was among them small trace of the vanities of life. They came undecked with orders of nobility. They were not children of fortune but of tribulation. Persecution, not preference, brought them hither; but it was a persecution in which they found a stern satisfaction. They cared little for titles; still less for the goods of this earth; but for an idea they would die. Measured by the standards of men of their time, they were the humble of the earth. Measured by later accomplishments, they were the mighty. In appearance weak and persecuted they came–rejected, despised–an insignificant band; in reality strong and independent, a mighty host of whom the world was not worthy, destined to free mankind. No captain ever led his forces to such a conquest. Oblivious to rank, yet men trace to them their lineage as to a royal house… They came seeking only an abiding-place on earth, “but lifted up their eyes to heaven, their dearest country,” says Governor Bradford, “where God hath prepared for them a city.” On that abiding faith has been reared an empire, magnificent beyond their dreams of Paradise… What an increase, material and spiritual, three hundred years has brought that little company is known to all the earth. No like body ever cast so great an influence on human history... Plymouth Rock does not mark a beginning or an end. It marks a revelation of that which is without beginning and without end–a purpose, shining through eternity with a resplendent light, undimmed even by the imperfections of men; and a response, an answering purpose, from those who, oblivious, disdainful of all else, sailed hither seeking only for an avenue for the immortal soul.” Never forget the majestic inheritance to which all Americans stand today as heir and steward. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Panasonic and Palantir are partners in writing the next chapter of American advanced manufacturing. Last week I attended their Kansas facility’s grand opening, built on the same land where a WWII ammunition plant once powered Allied victory, now manufacturing America’s energy resilience.

“On the day of signing, the Continental Army stood at about 10,000 men, under Washington at New York. Other than that, there was only the militia of the several states, brave men, but badly armed and worse trained, of doubtful quality in the face of British bayonets. The congress had already received word from General Washington of a vast flotilla—dozens of sail, 42,000 seamen and soldiers altogether—standing off Sandy Hook. The largest body of armed men ever sent to North America was about to land to crush the Revolution. The Crown had promised amnesty to any Americans who renounced the rebel cause, and severity to those who did not. Behind that armada in the Atlantic was the world’s greatest empire, a wealthy and powerful nation of nine million people who ruled the seas. “No man, however prominent at home, could sign the Declaration in perfect safety, or hope to sit out the ensuing war. There were several delegates lining up before Secretary Thomson’s table [Charles Thomson=Secretary of the Continental Congress] who in their hearts doubted if colonies could win. The real battle was not yet joined; the issue was much in doubt. “At this time and at this place, it was reasonably certain that every man in this hall had more to lose from this Revolution than he could possibly hope to gain—except for honor and principle. The resistance to Parliament had begun over duties, lands, and taxation—property—but it had rapidly become a stand for principle. The taxes that Parliament had imposed on America did bite some severely, especially the Stamp Tax, but that had already been repealed. The tea tax, part of an ingenious plan to aid the East India Company consume a surplus and assert the right of Parliament to tax at the same time, actually lowered the American cost of tea. Taxes of this kind, also, could not really affect the immensely wealthy landowners who were so influential here. But they were seen as an opening wedge. They were an assertion of the potential power to destroy, and they were opposed, at the risk of life, limb, and fortune, on principle. This was an attitude and a resolve the British Ministry never quite understood. Knowledgeable men in Britain argued with exasperation that the taxes levied did not really hurt America—and thus avoided the entire point. “When the propertied delegates attached their names to the Declaration, they made all their possessions, as traitors, forfeit. If they were seeking merely to preserve their property, the better part of valor would have been to sit this riotous summer out to see who would win.” -Greatness to Spare, T.R. Fehrenbach

👀 Explosive growth of Maven
Eliano A Younes@eliano

A good read on Maven Smart Systems (powered by Palantir) in @DefenseOne by @DefTechPat 🗞️ Found this portion particularly interesting 👀 “The number of soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and guardians, who have joined the Maven user base has quadrupled in just one year, Whitworth said. More and more commanders across the services now have confidence in AI and see the urgent need to incorporate it into their operations. Whitworth says NGA has been able to keep up with the demand. In fact, he said that latency—the time between when an object shows up and when it’s “detected” as a potential target—has gone down by 80 percent. He ascribed that to not only better, continuous work on models to improve accuracy and efficiency, but also the foresight to acquire enough computing power to meet the customer demand.” 🚀 🇺🇸

America’s future as the global AI leader is at stake. Without bold action to expand energy capacity, modernize the grid, and build AI infrastructure, we risk ceding ground to China. In a piece published this morning in @RCPolitics, I argue that Congress must use budget reconciliation to supercharge nuclear energy, upgrade our grid, and spur data center development nationwide 🇺🇸⚡️ The stakes couldn’t be higher. America has the most vibrant tech industry on the planet, yet policy and habit limit the federal government from taking full advantage of it to benefit the American people. Our deployment of @PalantirTech's Foundry at Anduril just crossed 500 weekly active users across Production, Sustainment, People, and Finance teams. Roughly 1/8th of the whole company uses Palantir each week. 🤯 Partnership couldn't be going any better. Cc: @ssankar @MabreyTed
