Have you thought about creating a #communitygarden for your #educ4750 project? @PlayCraftLearn (Mindcraft) is a great educational tool to utilise, allowing students to design their garden using ICT. What’s another resource that you will use when creating a garden? #UoNTeach

@Steph_Murray12 I agree @Steph_Murray12. When students collaborate with each other, they learn important life skills, important in the 21st century. I do, I found that Slater and Ravid’s book 'Collaboration in Education' supports this notion of collaboration within the classroom.

@Melissa_321M Collaboration between teacher and students and students alone is crucial! We learn so much from communicating with one another and gaining new perspectives on things - both personally and academically! Do you have any resources that link to collaboration in the classroom?

Why is the #SDG3 #goodhealthandwellbeing important for our students? I believe one aspect is the improved learning outcomes that can arise from healthy relationships and collaboration between our students. #EDUC4750 students, what do you think? #UoNTeach

@AlanaRo93529970 Yes essentially. I used my maths exit slips after a lesson before they went to recess. You could possibly implement these before any break.

@kaneshamurray_ Definitely, Yoga allows students to become mindful, focusing on the now and how they are feeling. Additionally, I have found that yoga reduces stress ultimately promoting a greater attention span. Would you agree @kaneshamurray_ ?

@kaneshamurray_ I found this website and the authors mention 10 ways that we can promote a growth mindset within our students. One technique that I plan to implement within my future classroom is utilsing individualised goal-based journals. check out the webpage prodigygame.com/main-en/blog/g…

@Miss_Gascoigne Excellent poster Kayarna. This poster could be easily linked to literacy within the classroom as well. How would you, as a future teacher, want to link this to literacy?

@Miss_Gascoigne De Bono's six thinking hats allow us promote team work, critical thinking, decision making, conflict resolution and problem solving within the classroom. These ideas can also be used within professional development - allowing for teachers to reflect upon their teaching.

@AlanaRo93529970 Within my personal life, the more fruit and veg I eat, the better I feel. Healthline identify that children who follow the 5 and 2 guidelines for healthy eating are less likely to become overweight, positively contributing to their overall wellbeing. healthline.com/nutrition/the-…

@AlanaRo93529970 Such a great idea! Within my last prac I introduced exit slips - a tool for assessment of the content we explored within mathematics. This could be easily adapted to focus upon the students emotions and mental health. Here is something similar.

@MadHirst_Uni I believe this would be an excellent tool to gain valuable info, identifying which students are not eating a substantive breakfast each day. The introduction of a breakfast club would be extremely beneficial - especially for Indigenous students coming from a low SES background.

#Educ4750 peers focusing on #SDG3 have you heard of the NSW government healthy lifestyle program 'Live Outside the Box'? This challenge allows students to track their eating habits as well as their physical and sedentary activities. Check it out! #Educ4750 #uonteach

@jessymaxine2 @YouTube I agree, If our students don't feel safe, how will they be able to learn. Creating a safe and supportive environment within the classroom will encourage our students to want to attend school each and everyday. How will you support this within your classroom Jess?

@kaneshamurray_ @NutritionAust When I was younger, I would really only see marketing for unhealthy foods that would be detrimental to my health. Now I am so glad that major supermarket chains are trying to flip this by advertising free fruit and veg in store! #saveourchildren

Where are the ethics in unhealthy food marketing targeting children? Where do we draw the line? @NutritionAust has identified a strong place to start! Our students are also bombarded with ads via internet! How can we educate our students against the traps of marketing? #uonteach
Nutrition Australia@NutritionAust

Australian govs must regulate to protect children from unhealthy food marketing in all areas of their lives. Ensuring public spaces & events are free from unhealthy food marketing is a good place to start - buff.ly/2PmVvmo #brandsoffourkids

@_danielleryner This learning activity is engaging and help to keep students on task. I love the idea of using game-based learning to teach topics of healthy eating and this could be extended for healthy brushing as well.

@_danielleryner What an excellent resource @_danielleryner. This will help to stop children from harvesting the fresh produce before it is ready. I would have this as a visual for the whole school to use!

@HoskingMiss Little athletics is such a great way to get your children involved with sport. I loved how we participated in events that focused on different fundamental skills - throwing, jumping, running, sprinting ect. I would recommend any child to try LANSW!
