What an excellent way for children to begin to regulate their own emotions. Supporting children to manage their emotions from a young age provides them with the essential skill they can transfer into adulthood. Cant wait to check out more @ZonesOfReg resources! #UoNTeach

@LaurenG68654208 How good are the filters! It is great that the website gives you the option to pick a stage, general capability and learning area which would be beneficial for #educators when designing lessons related to wellbeing for each KLA.

@Paige_Gabriel1 I will be really focusing on incorporating 21st Century Learning skills such as 'ICT for learning' and 'Collaboration'. I also really like using 'De Bono's 6 Thinking Hats', to helps students be better focused, and mindfully involved in the learning.

@AmbrumMiss @Sworkit Yes 100% agreed, homework would be a fantastic idea. The great thing about this app is the students can use it in class but at home as well. It would encourage children to be active at home as the activities are fun and engaging and in society today kids LOVE using technology.

@HoskingMiss @Sworkit Love this! This would encourage students to use technology respectfully and correctly, as well as helping teachers embed technology into their lessons. This could maybe be set as homework for kids, what do you think?

@MissSha55479033 I think this article is great as there is so much research and evidence out there that physical activity has a positive association with many different psychological and social health benefits. Thanks for sharing, this article exactly states that and is great to see.

@HoskingMiss Both participation in “formal” and “informal” sports can lead to enhanced emotional and behavioural well-being (Donaldson and Ronan, 2006). Check out this article it really helps to back up how important physical activity is in adolescence. ijbnpa.biomedcentral.com/track/pdf/10.1…

@cram_ms @HealthyKidsAU That sounds some great ideas! Even getting students to explore different plants and methods used to prepare food to which enables people to grow and be healthy would be beneficial for healthy living for students in the future!

@HoskingMiss @HealthyKidsAU Such a small percent, I had no idea! I think that incorporating community into the classroom is a great way to get students excited about vegatables. So getting guest speakers from the community garden, visits to the canteen/cooking classes, or even visiting the school garden!

#Educators and #parents should encourage young children to take part in days like this to show them how fun and enjoyable sport can be, essentially encouraging them to join up for Little Athletics and other sporting teams in the community! #UoNteach #std3

I agree! #PhysicaActivity is vital for good #mentalhealth and #wellbeing. Educators MUST promote the importance of being active for both short-term and long-term health to their students. So get started today with getting your students moving their bodies!!! #UoNteach #STG3

Wow! This would spark such great classroom conversation about an important topic and because it is set in a school environment, explained by children, it would be so valuable in teaching kids about their feelings and emotions. #EDUC4750 #UoNTeach #SGD3 youtube.com/watch?v=nCrjev…

@darcielarkin @OzHarvest What a great way to show young children how easy it can be to give back to the community. The next goal you have suggested it is a wonderful idea! How good would that be for students to gain insight into growing their own food and then giving it to those in need!

Another PS doing their part to make a difference! Teaching students the importance of giving back to the community, & providing for those who need it most is such a valuable lesson. Next goal? Fresh produce grown by the students themselves donated @OzHarvest? #UoNTeach #educ4750
