@ZDH513 @mini_feebas @EMTElaina I've played fk. I know it goes into the extra, but those lines aren't always optimal or needed every game. Thats why its not uncommon for fk to be on pot of extrav, cuz its not that big of a deal if they can't access the ed

If banishing extra deck monster(s) effects can stop your deck from functioning then maybe you should try playing decks that don’t rely on extra deck when that effect is popular Such simple logic yet nobody seems to understand this fact

@ffSteeD27 @mlwjrpg I’m not denying that. But up to this point, we’ve been following the narrative through the characters’ perspective, and unless I’m mistaken, nothing in the story has contradicted their desire defy fate

There’s no reason to alienate this to a “certain faction.” I promise you the notion of Aerith’s fate changing is common place amongst casual players of the retrio series detached from internal fandom discourse. “Something has to change” you’re damn right because not a single person walked into Remake day 1 with the idea that Aerith’s fate could potentially change. So my question is it objectively good writing and story telling to drag players along for 7 years just to point laugh and say red herring? SE is working to rebuild its reputation and FF7 is their stable, their baby. They know it, we know it, and you know it. You think they build back to the Squaresoft glory days by gaslighting players for what would stack up to be no reason? Tarnishing OG in the process as well?

@ffSteeD27 @mlwjrpg That’s exactly the point though. Remake presents the OG outcome as a “bad outcome” from the characters perspective because the game presented them literally fighting fate and trying to avoid repeating the same events as the OG

@mlwjrpg I don't think there is anything that would tarnish the OG more than concluding it was the bad ending, and telling new players that they should play it before understanding the Remake series..

@pollenainne Maybe because we get a conclusion to Aeriths romantic plot with her response to Cloud during their dream date where she likes him, but there are many other types of likes. Thats the conclusion you are getting from the romantic plot between the two of them.

I honestly would not mind the “Tifa = internal heroine / Aerith = plot heroine” framing if people were using it neutrally. Tifa is heavily tied to Cloud’s internal conflict, and Aerith is heavily tied to the Planet/main plot. That part is fine. My issue is that this framing gets used to devalue Aerith’s side as a romantic interest, as if being important to the Planet plot means her bond with Cloud is no longer romantic or emotionally central. Those things are not mutually exclusive. Aerith can be the heroine of the larger plot and still matter deeply to Cloud’s personal/romantic arc. The problem is not the distinction. The problem is using the distinction to push Aerith out of the romance category.

@jnoe33 I mean the other side got corrected by Hamaguchi himself for saying Cloud and Aerith have a sibling relationship so I think we’ll live
