Dead men don't do anything but in scripture dead people do lots of things. Why? Because dead is metaphorical, not literal. But Calvinists NEED it to be corpse like unable to respond. Why? So their eisegesis can work. Let the reader COMPREHEND.

@1984_nate Many have been misled to think that a person becones a believer once they believe and remains so ever if they no longer believe, such that everything assured to believers remain assured to them irreversibly. They do not know that you are a believer only while you believe.

They are not deliberately doing it. What needs fixing is their logical framework for extrapolating ideas.

His point is that the passage says the believer was raised - given life - with Christ, not so as he may be capable of faith, but THROUGH faith. This means that the believer had to have faith in place in order to be raised - given life.

@1984_nate Who or what raised Jesus from the dead? The Father or Jesus' faith? v. 13 Who/what made us alive, our faith or God? v. 14 Forgave our sin, cancelled our debt, took away our condemnation, ALL nailed to the cross! When we were DEAD! (v.13) As always, being made alive is all God!

Colossians 2:12 buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. Raised with Christ TO or THROUGH faith? Let the reader understand.

@1984_nate Most believe Christ died for all, but almost none believe Christ reconciled the world to himself!

In 2 Cor. 5 the message of reconciliation that we preach to all is that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them. If you don't believe Christ died for all then you cannot give this message honestly. Let the reader understand.

@TrygstadBryan @1984_nate "Of" does not always means "belonging to". It can also mean "relating to." The context indicates the idea is the later.

@1984_nate Gal. 2:16 - "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith OF Jesus Christ", Rom. 3:22 - "Even the righteousness of God which is by faith OF Jesus Christ unto all..." Gal. 3:21-22 the promise by faith OF Jesus Christ might be given..." Just saying.

Literally nowhere in any of these passages is the faith spoken of said to be Christ's faith. It was Abraham's act of believing, his faith.

@1984_nate Like I've always maintained, we have a crisis of comprehension on our hands. Many simple truths have been corrupted by the lack of good grasp of simple English grammar by saints. This is why I have been advocating for better grammar comprehension for sound Scripture understanding

@OlabisiZoey This bone of contention is not that salvation is not eternal but that it is not eternal yet the moment a person believes. It is after you have continued till the end that you receive it completely. Before then, you can be disqualified.

If salvation is not eternal, then there is no difference between Christianity and every other religion Jesus is able to save to the uttermost, till the end!

@Chainsaw59598 @1984_nate God did't ordain evil into men's hearts in order to determine for Jesus to be killed by them. They had harbored the desire since his first year but could not actualize it because Jesus did not give himself to it, not until. God instructed him to not evade them anymore.

@1984_nate Actually it says in 2:23 that Jesus was slain by "wicked hands." Their position makes God's hands the wicked hands. 2:23 also explains that God's plan was for Jesus to be "delivered" over to them, not that God did it Himself.

"Including every evil act of the men." Literally nowhere to be found in Acts 4:28. I just wish Calvinists could see that this is their INTERPRETATION and not what the text says.

@ContraYoshi @1984_nate There is faith as a capacity and there is faith as an act or exercise. God can give you sight (capacity to see) and you would still choose not to see. God can give you persuasion and you would choose to not exercise it toward Jesus. Faith exercised is what saves.

Scripture says that whoever hears God's word and believes Him who sent Christ has eternal life, that the DEAD will HEAR the voice of the Son of God, and those who HEAR WILL LIVE. You were not made alive prior to hearing according to scripture. Let the reader understand.

@egi_nupe I doubt the sincerity of the governor. Why does he not first outlaw it in his state and set the ball rolling. Was that not how sharia was passed across the northern states? Why wait for the FG to outlaw something you can outlaw?
