Chinese “talent programs” involve personal vetting and training by Chinese intelligence, and someone who went through that process now helps oversee drug supply to US pharmacies.
This tells you everything how broken the FDA's vetting is. And are there other companies we don't know about also doing this?

The leaders of Sinopep, a Chinese drug company (controlled by the CCP) that the FDA has shockingly allowed to supply ingredients for America's popular weight-loss drugs (like those in Ozempic and Wegovy), have strong ties to Chinese government spy and military programs. The chairman, Tong Ziquan (a Singapore citizen), is part of China's special "High-End Foreign Experts Plan" and "National Major Talent Projects". These replaced the famous "Thousand Talents Program," which the FBI says helps China steal U.S. tech and secrets. A 2019 U.S. Senate report called these programs tools to hurt America's tech edge. The senior VP of Sinopep, Shi Guoqiang (also known as George Shi, a U.S. citizen), used to work at Scripps Research and Merck. He's in China's "Hundred Talents Plan" from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The FBI warns these plans recruit experts, do background checks on them and provide them with intelligence, train them, and pay them to bring knowledge back to China, essentially making the participants in these programs employees of the Chinese government. The company Co-founder Hong Yu is a professor at Zhejiang University, which runs secret defense labs for China's army (the PLA). Just in 2025, the province gave about $5.6 million to the PLA for military work. This is the team running a company the @US_FDA @DrMakaryFDA has cleared to import ingredients used in popular weight loss GLP-1 medications, giving the CCP access to America’s pharmaceutical supply chain. Did anyone bother to vet Sinopep’s China ties before letting this happen? Who's in charge of keeping CCP-linked companies out of the US drug supply? @SecKennedy, did you know about Sinopep's links to these Chinese programs (flagged by the FBI and Senate as spy risks) when the FDA gave them the green light?

Unhinged because my opinion is that there is no daylight between Poilievre and Carney?
There is no doubt that the country generally MIGHT be better off with Poilievre in charge.
The reality is that Poilievre will not end equalization. He would not end the Dairy Cartel - which means no trade deal with the US. He will not rein in the ostrich killing CFIA that now wants to register every calf born in Alberta. Bureaucrats are killing Canadian farming and ranching and Poilievre can do nothing.
Poilievre isn’t coming to save Alberta from Ottawa. He’s coming to mansplain why Ottawa is good for Alberta and why we should be happy to send 15 Billion a year to Quebec so that he can pretend that he still has a hope of ever forming a government.
Spare me your chess versus checkers nonsense. The whole point of Alberta Independence is to flip over the board and invent a new game made in Alberta.

This happened on June 28, 2024. Now, the US Department of Justice has revealed that the Islamists in Iran had a $250,000 contract out to have her killed. I saw this 15 years ago as a lawyer for a band in northern BC. A Chinese coal company rep handed a band official $20,000 in cash in an unmarked envelope.
But that official wasn’t crooked and the band opposed the mine.
We took pictures of the cash, gave it back, and took the company to court.
The judge shrugged. Company got its permits.
By giving tribal leaders a veto over major resource projects, bribery in one form or another is now the ordinary course of business, even if it’s no longer cash in envelopes. Now, it’s billion dollar payouts.
This is how reconciliation despite its lofty goals and some well meaning individuals working for indigenous groups, has rapidly corrupted our economy, and will soon transform British Columbia into the third world.

Immigrant in my business right now, originally from China, who has been here 40 years says he’s going to sell his house and get out of Canada (not sure where he’s going yet). He lives in Burnaby. Says Canadians are the dumbest people alive. They know they are suffering, they know they might lose their homes, freedom of speech etc but won’t vote out the people who are destroying them.
He’s not wrong.
It’s Stockholm syndrome on a national scale.
