We used the TMD data to analyze microbiome samples from different projects such as @metasub , @TaraOceans_Sci , the Human Microbiome Project, and Sponge Microbiome Project, showcasing the utility of TMD to help interpret microbiome data and uncover biological associations. 2/3

The Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn is an Superfund site which contains significant amounts of chemicals but we see the microbes have adapted and is potentially helping degrading these chemicals. My work with @henafflab and @mason_lab exploring the microbes academic.oup.com/jambio/article…

We are humbled to have our lab's work featured this week on the cover of @Nature (below), with many, many people to thank. First, the stellar crew of @inspiration4x, @rookisaacman, @ArceneauxHayley, @ChrisSembroski, @DrSianProctor, who donated time, blood, fluids, and sweat for the mission. These data were the foundation of the Space Omics and Medical Atlas (SOMA), expanding upon the findings from @StationCDRKelly & @CaptMarkKelly in the NASA Twins Study and enabling an unprecedented look the human body (and its microbes) in space.
