Bruh, this is getting ridiculous. Not all AI is AI slop. They are great for creating Concepts and Placeholders. Not even the creator of Final Fantasy is allowed to appreciate his own work being used by AI.
I use it a lot when coming up with ideas, and then I bring it to my Artist @Chabibit1 to look it over before she begins working on my idea. I'm a writer, not an artist. There are some things I have a hard time describing to my Artist, so concepts are the best way to use them. It makes it easier for her, instead of her trying to sit down and spend days figuring out exactly what I want.
The AI concept is a starting point. The idea is clear, and she builds on it to create magic with her skills. AI is going nowhere, so you better get used to it.

People are literally dragging the CREATOR of Final Fantasy because he said that an AI rendition of Final Fantasy VI (a pixel based game) looked awesome when visualized as 3D through AI. People have lost their minds. The CREATOR of the game can’t even enjoy art of his own game.

The post is getting backlash online, most people are upset about using AI for creative work based on Square Enix games and worry it could replace real artists.
But other people just say how badly fans want an official remake of the classic game.

@nemuriforest probably a reach because you see the same mechanics when you play as sephiroth beating the two dragons, and when you play as Cloud beating the whispers in the sleeping forest. It is just a "attack enemy, forget about battle mechanics" thing

Square Enix needs to partner with the AI companies, let people build UGC worlds with your characters and stories.
I am NOT saying build FF18 with AI.
I am saying that prompt-based gaming is the future of UGC and you either ride that tsunami and expand your audience or you get crushed by it. There are deals to be made with the model companies now. You will miss it forever.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi recently shared his thoughts on the future of RPG combat systems
He said that games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 “may have been inevitable” as newer players increasingly prefer real-time gameplay over traditional turn-based combat.
According to Hamaguchi, many younger players grew up with fast-paced action games and online multiplayer titles, which has changed expectations for modern RPGs.
As a result, more developers are moving toward action-focused combat systems that feel faster and more interactive.
At the same time, he made it clear that turn-based RPGs are not disappearing.

@Metsys416660 @calebhart42 I understand why you're saying that, but I think you're missing a vital piece of information. Bigger map = more to do. If we get access to 90% of the FF7 map in part 3, we need to have a reason to go there. So everywhere we can go in Part 3, there has to be stuff to do.

I have been saying this for a while because it has been said that none of the original story of the game will be cut from Part 3, which is awesome but leads into an issue. If this is true, then that means that the game will be fucking insanely huge, granted there are a vast amount of areas in the game that havent been visited/talked about. Rocket Town, Wutai, Gaias Cliff, Bone Village, Revisit to Midgar, Fort Condor, etc... The game will likely be some 250+ hour playthrough and 300+ gigs which can lead to burnout halfway through the game even, and likely will cause most streamers or players to take a break mid way and revisit it later. That can diminish the overall experience of the game.

RE: FFVII Drama I think it's about time we come clean with each-other regarding this. There's a lot of personal feelings going around in the last few days that needs to be directly addressed, without the 'he said, this once' sort of thing happening. We've all been in this for so long that it's hard to look back at what's happened for the past six years without a wide lens of context. I think we're starting to gain a little bit of that perspective with part 3 right on the horizon. Things are closer than they ever have been, and it's making some folks feel uncomfortable about what they feel. Maybe it could happen, maybe it can't. What's important is that we're able to have these conversations at any time. It's all for fun, and it feels like the entire point of the trilogy. A lot of people don't like what I have to say about certain things, but it's how I feel and I can't hold that back. Don't want to beat around the bush anymore and directly talk about this without being cheeky or trying to hide what I really feel about things. So I'm just gonna say what everyone is feeling. Part 3 will be 300+ GB and ship with a NVME drive on PS5 with a little imprinted FFVII logo. I refuse to believe everything else. You can't convince me otherwise.

FFVII Remake would have probably sold more and reached a wider audience if they just did a straight remake, I don't know wtf he's on about here.
All these pointless J.J. Abrams mystery boxes are all in service to nothing and when the 3rd part is out and the 7R project is done and dusted, all those pointless setups to shit just to try and generate artificial discussion about "what's gonna happen next 😱!?!?" will actively harm the overall game.
Literally every single time someone criticises the pointless changes those people were met with a wave of 7R shills in damage control going "errrm just wait not all the parts are out yet!?", "errrm how can you say its bad when part 3 isn't out yet!?", shit is so fucking tiring.
