Today, we remember the 2,977 lives lost 21 years ago. MBPD joined @MiamiBeachFire at Fire Station 2 to not only honor the victims who lost their lives that day, but to honor the heroes who risked their lives to save others. You will never be forgotten.

MBPD is saddened by the loss of Florida Department of Law Enforcement Special Agent Jose Perez. Our most heartfelt condolences to Special Agent Perez’s family, friends and the multiple law enforcement agencies touched by this loss.

MBPD joins dozens of police agencies at the 40th Annual Law Enforcement Memorial In Tallahassee, Florida. The names of eighty-five fallen officers will be added during this year’s ceremony, including MBPD Sergeant Edward Perez. ⬛️🟦⬛️ #NeverForget

In honor of this #AustismAcceptanceMonth, MBPD hosted a community bike ride this morning in North Beach. We also debuted our Autism Awareness vehicle, acquired through Florida’s Forfeiture Act and repurposed for community awareness. #YourMBPD

This morning, MBPD held a ceremony honoring the retirees over the past several years. Each of their names was added to the Wall of Honor, which proudly stands in front of our police station. We thank each retiree for their service, dedication, and commitment. #YourMBPD

As #WomensHistoryMonth comes to an end, we wanted to share a short video highlighting Miami Beach Police Training Officer Vivian Thayer. Vivian is currently assigned to the police department’s training unit and does a fantastic job with each of our new officers. #MBFOP

This weekend, we’ve had 4 @MiamiBeachPD officers injured. This video is a snippet of the crowds and dangers we face. Officers are EXHAUSTED. The party needs to end. City officials must take immediate and firm action to ensure the safety of officers and residents. #SpringBreak
