@notyourboyizzy @ayekeeno NBA ratings suggest less and less people care about the sport within the US. Some people just want to argue.

Podcast host Madame Joyce doubles down while responding to backlash for saying Klay Thompson is only known because of Megan Thee Stallion 👀 She then goes on to claim reality TV star NeNe Leakes is more popular than the top 10 current NBA players 💀🤦‍♂️

I saw Lew Alcindor win a championship his second year with The Big O. That’s Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Oscar Robertson fyi. I swear i heard announcers say the same things. I saw 7-4 Ralph Sampson lead the break in AllStar Games i wonder why these broadcasters sound like Wemby is doing the unseen. Luv his game but in the past coaches put similar built centers in the post because injuries were imminent on that body frame from below with teams trying to take them out. The trey plays on O and D makes Wemby different with his handle and shot. Coaches were protective not wanting that big man doing small things in the past for a reason..

Hey folks, today I’d like to take a moment to share something deeply personal with you. Over the past few years, my family has walked through a season of profound love and loss. My son Mac was a remarkable young man, full of talent, heart, and purpose. An incredible musician and composer, in 2018 Mac was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer and our family entered a journey that none of us could have prepared for. A little over two years ago I went to work writing my second book, sharing his story, as well as challenges and blessings our family experienced along the way, the love that held us together, the faith that sustained us, the grief that changed us, and how we continue to move forward daily with a strength we didn’t know we had. And now Thomas Nelson and @People Magazine begin the next part of this journey. This book is for Mac. It’s also for anyone who has faced loss, uncertainty, or hardship, and is searching for a line of hope in the middle of it. Something I feel I needed to do to help with my own healing. I’m thankful to People for sharing the launch of our presale today. Graceful Warrior: The True Story of a Son, a Father, and a Family Who Carried Each Other Through is now available for preorder and will officially be released on Mac’s birthday, Nov 10th. Thank you for your consideration. Read the full People article: bit.ly/4ms63wi Preorder today: bit.ly/4ekoVLk

Good. The same way a 100 year old Nazi will still be tried for war crimes, every Jim Crow era klansmen, southern sheriffs and Carolyn Bryant imitators still alive needs to be charged.

BREAKING: Étienne Davignon, 93 year old coloniser and former EU supremo, has been charged with complicity in the murder of Patrice Lumumba. This is genuinely huge news. Great news. "Every day for the thief, one day for the owner" - African proverb.

@BradThompson126 @ggreenwald You're right, it's not racist. However, my understanding is that this would be illegal in Brazil too. You cannot discriminate based on national origin.

@ggreenwald This isn't racist, they are allowed to do what they want in their own country and with their own business. Same thing I think for Japan. It's different for the US because we are an integrated society and it is usually entitled people in our country who can't deal with it.

A bar in Rio de Janeiro vehemently opposed to the wars in Gaza and Iran, "Partisan," placed a sign at its entrance that reads "US and Israeli Citizens are NOT Welcome." Now many are calling for the bar owners to be arrested for racism, which they somehow read into the sign:

@dgsbreen @MrChuckD There is a book called Why Leaders Fight that explores this topic. Also, there was research done by Oeindrila Dube. They both use data from the last couple of hundred years. Not perfect, but the best we have. There is no evidence that female leaders are less war-like.

@freemonotheist @bberratti Not true. In the Midwest and Southern USA, over 90% of people have a no shoes policy at home. In the USA and Europe overall, most polling puts the number at around 2/3 of people don't wear shoes at home.

Ex-Blockbuster employee here. And I mean it with 100% sincerity that the world would be a better place if we shut down all streaming services, re-opened Blockbusters and video stores worldwide, and shoved people back out into the world to find and enjoy their entertainment.

This is what you call storytelling in American textbooks. The Americas had millions of people before any Europeans arrived, but this is the main story they like to tell—using the wrong photo of Anthony Johnson. I guarantee this person could not trace her ancestry to the 13 colonies and her ancestors likely arrived after the Civil War. No one knows what Anthony Johnson looked like. The 13 colonies were reclassifying American Aborigines as slaves long before African slaves arrived.

@MrChuckD @TheHoopHerald I'm not sure why the majority of pro ready high school players go to college to play basketball. They should turn pro, get their endorsements, join the G league, and learn from pro coaching playing against older talent.
