the thing about buying a flex watch is you have to really flex with it so the $10-15k rolexes are a waste of money because everyone in your circle should have that amount liquid to drop on a watch if they wanted to but then above $25k you end up with the same couple models that everyone else has (gay) plus, you can start getting watches that are cooler than a rolex… but if you’re going to own an exotic and niche $35k watch, you have to get a few to rotate between otherwise you’re the guy who owns one really nice watch and wears it all the time okay so now you’re $100k into this just to flex on some dudes who don’t care if you live or die just buy the seiko bro.

@mike1zr2 Landlocked refers to the sea not to freshwater lakes. Almost every state has lake or river which connects to the sea which is not relevant to the definition or map.

@BrionMcClanahan Springsteen has written like 70,000,000 songs. They weren't all going to be masterpieces. Conversely, he also has better songs than the Wiggles.

@MitchellNole @TJ_Pittinger Burnishing FSU's academic reputation was also a factor. The SEC (except Vandy and UF) was a bunch of community colleges with football teams in the 90s.

@TJ_Pittinger People are just stupid.Hell FSU was making more in the ACC for a time period and I think the run in the 90’s showed it looked like a great decision. Another thing is FSU went to the ACC when Gene Corrigan was the commissioner, and FSU had no idea Swofford would fail years later

@wc56alpha @JWMediaDC There are only 2 private schools in the B1G. One is a charter member and the other is the size of a public university. Miami would be the smallest school if the B1G - *if* they can manage an invite.

@JWMediaDC If Miami had an on campus stadium or dedicated, they would be a slam dunk to B1G. With FSU stumbling around, they may be the preferred choice now. I think the B1G has every intention of getting a FL footprint as soon as the GOR hurdle is done.

That would track. UF and Miami have never got along. So, I agree Miami will not leave the ACC if they don't get a B1G invite.
Just Beachin@nolelifestyle

@JWMediaDC @SEC @bigten @theACC @Big12Conference Miami is not a cultural fit for SEC in any way. So, it’s either B10 or stay in ACC For what it’s worth, I have heard a few times of a rumor that SEC told UF they may add another FL university, but asked UF’s preference. UF chose FSU Just a rumor. Who knows how true

@DavidCa83706391 @JWMediaDC If ND takes a bigger stake in ACC and tries to form it to be an elite private/public conference anchored by them and Miami, Miami may want to stay in that.

Maybe and maybe not. If Miami doesn't get a Big Ten invite the SEC is unlikely to invite them they could stay.

@Genetics56 Have really hard time believing this. They sucked at football and basketball (M & W). I know the whole SEC watched the Bama opener and Miami brought the eyeballs later in season, but geez. They need the $ tho as they will suck again this year and no one will watch.

@JWMediaDC As long as the ACC still has a path to some CFP slots after FSU/Clemson, etc. leave; SMU has an incentive to stay there. Same for Miami - now that the ACC does unequal revenue sharing based on ratings & performance.

@SprolesThe @Bob_Janke The US had planes (i.e. Curtiss JN-4). The bigger issue was probably getting them over to Europe in large numbers. It would have been logistically easier to use UK & French planes.

@Bob_Janke The US pilots in WWI flew mostly British planes, because we were far behind them in creating capable fighter planes at the time. It's very appropriate for him to fly a Sopwith Camel.

@PaulVarnell93 @B1OBEY0ND @JaredW67913667 FSU/UF will continue whether FSU joins the SEC or B1G (Legislature is involved w/that). FSU/Miami is in jeopardy if one of those schools joins the B1G without the other as a travel partner.

@B1OBEY0ND @JaredW67913667 That’s assuming the B1G offers a full deal. Not to mention if Florida State doesn’t go to the B1G with Miami either their Miami and Florida rivalry game dies.

Here is what is going to happen if the bill passes: FSU, Clemson, and ND will not agree to pool the rights therefore vetoing the pooling structure. SEC adds FSU and Clemson Lawsuit filed against the B10 and SEC alleging collusion and obstruction as the rights can’t be pooled and therefore want the FSU and Clemson additions to be invalidated. FSU will file a counter suit in Florida State court alleging sovereign immunity, 1st amendment freedom of association, restraint of trade, etc, etc. There will be an attempted settlement to allow the B10 and SEC freedom of all restrictions of there additions to add whoever they want with special exemptions of various pooling and rivalry concepts if they agree to pool the rights So the B12 and G6 can get media rights revenue raises. B10 and SEC will listen and either agree or will sue to strike the restrictions down under the 1st amendment. I am starting to look at June 30th again as a potential date. If the bill looks like it could pass then I could easily see FOX and ESPN adding there additions before a law is signed. Ultimately I believe there will be an agreement for the pooling threshold to be lowered down from 75% in exchange for the B10 and SEC support. Just IMO
Mit Winter@WinterSportsLaw

Heavy support from Big 12, ACC, American, and Pac-12 schools. Minimal support from SEC and Big Ten schools. Going to be interesting to see how that affects the bill’s chances of passing.
