@runaway_vol Better wait till the cashier scan all my goods and tell the price, only there I will start to pack my stuff and ask random questions about the sum. Also better ask him to repeat the total amount while I take my time to lift my glasses and search inside my wallet. -Avg. boomer

german supermarkt cashiers are truly special in that you wait at least 20 minutes in line, but when it's your turn you have to speed-bag everything in 30 seconds, otherwise the cashier and other shoppers will start passive-aggressively urging you to hurry up. Then when you have to pay, they will ask you for 5 different rewards and loyalty cards, and finally it takes about two minutes to print the receipt. This is why self-checkout is a hit in Germany, it took the experience from downright abusive to somewhat tolerable

Drinking beverages above 65°C is a Group 2A carcinogen. The mechanism is thermal injury to the esophageal lining, repeated over years, driving chronic inflammation and cell turnover. Islami 2019 prospectively followed 50,045 adults in Iran for 10 years and measured tea drinking temperature objectively. People who drank tea at 60°C or higher had 41% higher risk of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. People who preferred "very hot" tea had 141% higher risk. People who drank within 2 minutes of pouring had 51% higher risk than people who waited 6+ minutes. A separate cohort in Kenya (Middleton 2019) found 3.7 times the risk for "very hot" drinkers vs warm. Tea cools below 65°C in roughly 4 to 5 minutes in a standard mug. The threshold is the temperature, not the drink. Islami, Int J Cancer 2019: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30891750/ Middleton, Int J Cancer 2019: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30496610/

The statistics show it: Invest in a Marriage not in a wedding. The wedding industry is a $60 billion machine built on convincing you that spending more means loving more. The research says something different. Emory University researchers surveyed over 3,000 couples and found that the more you spend on your wedding the more likely you are to end up divorced. The data is consistent enough that it's hard to ignore. Women who spent over $20,000 on their wedding were 3.5 times more likely to divorce than those who kept the budget between $5,000 and $10,000. Couples who spent less than $1,000 on their wedding had the LOWEST divorce rates of all. Now here's the nuance that matters. The researchers don't believe an expensive wedding causes divorce. They believe the financial behaviors and pressures that lead couples to overspend on a wedding create the conditions for marital strain down the road. Financial stress is consistently the number one cause of divorce. Starting a marriage with $30,000 in wedding debt on a combined $80,000 income is a fundamentally different situation than spending $30,000 when you earn $300,000. There's also a finding in this study that almost never gets mentioned in the viral versions of this stat. Couples with large guest lists but modest budgets had some of the strongest marriages of anyone in the study. The researchers believe community support from friends and family matters far more to a marriage than what you spent on centerpieces. The wedding industry spent decades convincing people that the size of the ring and the budget of the reception are expressions of love. The data disagrees 💍 ♥️ Source: The Argent Group

What is up lately with older men thinking that it’s okay for them to come up and try to hit on girls that are at least half or three times their age. They were telling him they didn’t want to talk to him,but he just wouldn’t take no for an answer and that’s a huge problem!

@ThrillaRilla369 I approach women only when given signals, I mean strong signals hard to miss and that require a certain effort on their side too. Too riskful otherwise plus I dont wanna feed the ego machine that drove us to the current state of things.

@kafkaex Explain to women (and make sure they get it) that their league is the one of men willing to COMMIT to them not having sex. Once they play within their league, ghosting or being pumped&dumped no longer happens as long as they behave decently outside the bedroom.

I agree with this 100%. Sex often precedes commitment today. If you’re a woman who wants a long term relationship, sleeping with a man early, even on the first date, can sometimes work in your favor rather than against you. In modern dating, withholding sex does not reliably create commitment. Since many relationships develop through sexual and romantic momentum before formal exclusivity, a woman who wants a long term relationship may hurt her odds if she treats sex mainly as a gatekeeping tool.

do you understand what this stat actually is.. one in three young men aged 20 to 35 in the UK are living with their parents.. up from one in four in 2000.. and it's accelerating.. in 1997 the average UK house cost 3.6 times the average salary.. today it's 9 times.. in London it's 12 times.. wages didn't halve.. housing tripled.. but here's what nobody in this thread is connecting.. in 1980 Margaret Thatcher passed the Housing Act.. gave 5 million council tenants the right to buy their homes at a 44% discount.. 2 million were sold.. the Treasury pocketed £28 billion.. and almost none of them were replaced.. that generation got handed the ladder at half price.. then the government pulled it up behind them.. the kid in Manchester saving £50,000 by living with his dad said it himself.. "my dad managed to buy a house at 21.. but that was just how it was back then".. it wasn't "how it was".. it was policy.. deliberate, specific, dated policy.. and the bill just landed on his son's generation 45 years later.. they called it a "property-owning democracy".. what they built was a country where a third of young men can't afford to leave the house their parents bought with a government discount

@cecegkh The reason why restaurants are either unbelievably expensive compared to the cost of the food or the staff need tips to compensate for ridicoulous pays is a simple one. Taxes from the government that add extra costs equally to owners, clients and staff. All of that for nothing.

San Francisco restaurant removes tipping from checks. The owner understands that people are tired of the tipping culture, so he doesn’t allow tipping, taxes or service fees in his establishment and instead pays his employees $40 per hour Now, here’s the catch: every meal will cost $140 per person. The price is all inclusive and nothing will be added to that price. I know when we go to a nice restaurant, it can easily cost $140+ per person and then add tip, taxes, and service fee as well. Do you think this is a better deal or a word game with tips, taxes and service fees? What are your thoughts on this?

My wife cheated 3 years ago. I stayed for the kids. Everyone praised me for being ‘strong’ and ‘forgiving.’ But here’s the truth is… I don’t love her anymore. Not even a little. I provide, I show up, I play my role as a husband and father… but emotionally, I checked out a long time ago. Recently, I met a woman who actually makes me feel alive again. She respects me, admires me, gives me peace. I haven’t crossed the line… but I’m close. After everything my wife did, do I even owe her loyalty anymore… or should I divorce her and marry the other? Coach you advise is of importance here. --From My Dm, please share your advice with him.

I’m a huge fan of Alex Cooper because she understands male-female sexual dynamics & is unafraid to express her views. Women who think they should delay sex with men they’re genuinely attracted to due to fear of the guy looking down on them are deeply misguided. It’s actually the opposite. Delaying sex when there’s mutual chemistry will make the guy question why she’s holding out when she had sex early on with other men. It also will result in worse sex. Net negative for both parties. Alex understands this & should be applauded for her contribution to society, not ashamed.
