Lame question, but does anyone have any recipes that you don't mind sharing for using beans? We have a bunch of different kinds that we need to use, and I'm fresh out of ideas. And please don't say refried beans for tacos.

@Arkypatriot Pretty similar to Texas recipes. I have some smoked ham hocks I'll use.

Well, one thing is is I never cook them in water I use chicken broth and lots of aromatics and I use sausage or ham as meat with them. They cook the best in an instant pot second best is a crockpot. I use onions and garlic. Down here in the south you would have them with cornbread maybe serve them over rice.

If you would please keep my Casper in your prayers today. I noticed yesterday that he seemed thirstier than usual, but with the weather warming up and playing outside, I didn't make too much out of it. Then he had an accident overnight for the first time in months. Again, this can happen with diabetic dogs, so while my radar was going off, I tried not to make too much of it. After he went outside, he came back in and drank almost a full bowl of water. This is a lot of water for him. I called the vet, and she told me to keep an eye on him and to bring in a urine sample if the behavior continued. He seemed fine, so I thought maybe I was making too much of it (me, NEVER, RIGHT?), but then while I was using the restroom, he had another accident. He never has accidents during the day when I'm at home with him. Never. So now I'm on urine sample catch duty, and we have an appointment at 4:45 this afternoon. It could be a plethora of things, from his body needing an adjustment with his insulin (he's been regulated since August), to a UTI or ear infection, to kidney failure. And sure, while the only real symptoms he has are drinking too much water and a couple of accidents, in my mind, I'm convinced it's the worst possible thing. So while you're praying for Casper, maybe send me a few as well, since I'm a basket case when it comes to my dogs. Yes, I'm a basket case about many things, but my dogs are my heart. Oh, and Trixie could use some, too, she frets as well. Thank you.

Heard some commotion in the garage. This thing was tap dancing on some soil bags so I put it in a box and we drove it back to the big pond incline. Whole time it’s scraping the box. Set it on the ramp and it just Mario carted itself all the way down the slope 🤣

It’s chilly and grey today but we heard the peepers the other night so I’m test burning a new candle in their honor. I hope to be adding these fine fellows to our website soon. In the meantime, we have plenty of candles still available at Humming Meadow dot com.

@Michell9704767 What kind of beans do you have? I have a lot of recipes with beans. I was vegan for a few years before it was causing more problems than solving. I might have some you’d like.

@Arkypatriot Basically, recipes that would make beans more appealing to my family. They don't care for bean and cheese tacos anymore, and besides that and basic beans, I never really learned many recipes for them. We have a variety of types, too.
