Broadcast TV stations have always been required by their licenses to operate in the public interest—that includes serving the needs of their local communities. And broadcasters have long retained the right to not air national programs that they believe are inconsistent with the public interest, including their local communities’ values. I am glad to see that many broadcasters are responding to their viewers as intended.

If a surgeon showed up to your child’s procedure with a chainsaw, you would grab the kid and run out the door. But this week Elon Musk went to conservative conference, waving a chainsaw for America’s government. And many alleged patriots cheered. I did not. Like all Constitutional democracies, America’s government is delicate and precious. It is an imperfect union that generations of patriots and activists have labored hard to build, maintain and improve. As I have shown repeatedly, I will work with ANYONE to fix it. But I will work against anyone who wants to highjack our government and rip apart its vital functions, with zero oversight or accountability. That’s not patriotic. That’s anti-American. And everyone who loves America’s system of government should say so.

A huge percentage of DOD civilians fired will be veterans. Since 30 percent of the federal civilian workforce are veterans, Donald Trump will set a record for the President who has fired the most veterans. A disgrace not a distinction.
