Can you believe this nonsense, Steve Barclay, former Secretary of State for Environment complaining about dead fish.
Guess what he did about water companies, agriculture pollution, Environment Agency, Ofwat and the utter chaos overseen by his department when he was the man in charge?
Yep, nothing! Hypocrite.
Wendy Blythe@greenarteries
“Former Environment Sec Steve Barclay has asked in Parliament why there has been no prosecution after hundreds of dead fish were found floating in a dyke [nr Whittlesey Cambs] Anglian Water which is responsible for the dyke has been contacted for comment” bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@willireallyam1 @AthleticsWeekly Let's rejoice in the fact that Josh outmanoeuvred him today and even his sprint finish (which admittedly is fearsome) couldn't save him this time.
English

@MickMikelt @AthleticsWeekly I honestly don’t know what it is. Could be the way he races but also his constant little digs at JK. And when it’s given back he doesn’t like it.

“I flexed on him [Josh Kerr] in Millrose and I know he can’t let that slide. All I’ll say is come up with your own celebration.”
Cole Hocker reacts to his 3000m silver medal at the World Indoor Championships - clocking 7:35.70 behind Josh Kerr (7:35.56) ⚡️
After Kerr did the same celebration Hocker did at the Millrose Games, he made sure to share his thoughts ‼️

@willireallyam1 @AthleticsWeekly Good to hear, thought it was just me. Several other 'likes' for this post too.
We are not alone!
English

@AthleticsWeekly There’s something about Hocker that I just don’t like…

@chechalkley Never seen it b4 yesterday, a great read.
Somebody told me that Austin is back in the UK now but don't think he has resurrected the Sound System. He was my go to guy to provide the support to the live Reggae acts I put on at the Town Hall.
Always fascinating seeing them set up.

@MickMikelt Lovely post @MickMikelt Special times... I don't go to the Carnival these days

A wonderful account of the Reggae sound system 'Jah Observer': Backstage at the Notting Hill Carnival 2009.
Last valve amp powered system to play Carnival. Strictly Roots - seen? dub-stuy.com/jah-observer-b…

@galibiervelo All good thanx Miles. Shocker about Larry, had exchanged a few texts with him whilst in hospital. Then Thomas told me @ w/end that he had gone.
Your firm has done well, despite the bike biz doom & gloom.. Most of my kit is nearing extinction, will need to top at yours sometime!

@MickMikelt I remember him telling me you were with him from the start. Hope all well Mick

Really sorry to hear of the passing of Larry Hickmott, the founder of velouk.net. He was essential to the reporting of grass root cycle sport.
We were delighted to support him for 5 years and pass sincere sympathy, to his wife Lynne, family and mother in Australia.

The family of Larry Hickmott have started a tribute page for anyone that would like to share a memory of Larry or leave a message for his family.

Please share it far and wide.

@JezCox @Andymcgra Lovely eugy Jex, heartfelt and sincere. Larry was a one off, worked tirelessly on behalf of grass roots domestic racing for scant reward. He will be hugely missed.

@Plastic_Peloton Vaguely remember something in that format, think I might have one amongst the mountains of ex Prendas memorabilia. It had Chris Boardman on the front cover in his Gan years which would make it mid '90's. Can't remember what it was called, if I find it, will let you know.
English

@MickMikelt Not that - far too glossy. This was a newspaper
English

People - come on. I can’t have imagined this.
It would have a Tour of Flanders report then a 3-page ‘Surrey League’ roundup. That sort of thing
Anthony Pope@Plastic_Peloton
I don’t post much here now but this is bugging me - there was a newspaper style cycling publication in the 90s…..not around for long (down here anyway)…..no nonsense mix of racing….lot of national stuff….some global…..but what was it called?
English

@roadphil @VeloUK Hugely saddened to hear of Larry's passing yesterday, even more so after exchanging recent text messages with him.
Spot on Phil, Larry was a huge asset to domestic racing scene, worked tirelessly for scant reward.
Always happy to advertise on his website back in my Prendas days.

Very saddened to hear of the passing of Larry Hickmott of @VeloUK.
He’s had a poor spell of health of late which saw him hospitalised and his partner Lynne announced the news earlier today on FB.
The UK racing scene will miss his reporting, insights and presence.
RIP Larry

@RestrictedDaily @keithmorey Had to be on your game with Van.
Pete Wingfield on keyboards. Probably Jerome Rimson on bass and possibly Dallas Taylor on drums.
That was the line up for his appearance at Montreux Jazz Festival 1974.
Unsure about Dallas Taylor though, maybe Peter Van Hooke?

@reece_dinsdale 'In October, Infantino posted on Instagram saying Trump "definitely deserves" the Nobel Peace Prize.
In a November interview in Miami, Infantino also added: "We should all support what [Trump] is doing [in the US] because I think it's looking pretty good.'
This hasn't aged well.
