We are disappointed that the 2026 legislative session in Indiana concluded without the adoption of a reasonable, science-based regulatory framework for hemp products. Our focus now turns to Capitol Hill and the Farm Bill: buff.ly/rDlMODB

The Office of Congressman Jim Baird is saddened to announce the passing of his beloved wife, Danise, following complications from injuries sustained in a car accident earlier this year.
Congressman Baird and Danise were married for 59 years, building a life centered on faith, family, and service. A devoted wife and loving mother of three, she was the foundation of their family and will be deeply missed. We ask that you keep the Congressman and his family in your prayers during this difficult time.

Roses are red, violets are blue 🌹
SB 250 could criminalize hemp and CBD too.
We want smart rules that prioritize safety,
Not prohibition that harms our community.
Tell lawmakers before Wednesday that you oppose SB 250 as currently written. 💌 buff.ly/f6JtW4F

SB 250 will be heard in the House Committee on Courts and Criminal Law on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. This bill bans every product currently available to adult consumers on the market in Indiana and recriminalizes broad spectrum and full spectrum CBD products! buff.ly/egLjdJ2

I introduced the Hemp Planting Predictability Act with @RepJamesComer, @RepAngieCraig, @RepTimMooreNC, and @repgabeevans to extend the implementation of new hemp restrictions and ensure farmers have sufficient time to adjust to new laws that affect their livelihood.

Thanks to our legislators who filed an extension to the hemp killing language pushed through by Mitch McConnell. This will give us time to implement thoughtful regulation that allows freedom of choice and consumer safety without taking us back in time to failed prohibition policies. #saveamericanhemp

@RepJimBaird continues to be a champion for farmers in Indiana and across the country. During today’s House budget hearing, he made a point to express his displeasure with the hemp language that was slipped in to an unrelated bill and outside of regular order. He understands that recriminalizing the industry only benefits bad actors and preempts existing state regulatory structures that balance public health with market access. Thank you!

@RepJimBaird continues to be a champion for not just Indiana farmers but all farmers. During today’s House budget hearing, Congressman Baird made a point to express his displeasure with outlawing hemp. He understands that prohibition will only empower bad actors and preempts existing state regulatory programs.

Thank you @RepJimBaird for signing on as a cosponsor and @RepNancyMace for authoring to HR 6209, which would repeal the backdoor ban on hemp processing! congress.gov/bill/119th-con…

People like this are precisely the ones I was fighting for when the hemp ban language was snuck into the bill to reopen the government.

@admindotlaw a processor cannot stay under .3% total THC during the act of processing hemp so an end product cannot be made
English

@Midwest_Hemp I get that, but I don’t see how it makes the .4 limit irrelevant. In general, those who work with laws (and write them) try to avoid writing irrelevant things, so I assume it is relevant unless there is strong reason to think otherwise. Maybe we are talking past each other?
English

@admindotlaw An intermediate hemp product is excluded from the definition of hemp if it is above .3% total THC (including any other cannabinoids designated to have similar effects as THC. The definition of an intermediate hemp product includes a hemp product which is not yet in final form.
