Muslims that are DEFENDING their mosques and communities ARE NOT rioting. Muslims are not attacking hotels that are housing migrants. Muslims are not targeting places of worship. Muslims are not burning Citizens Advice and libraries. Muslims are not smashing up people’s homes, cars and businesses. Muslims are not attacking police officers. Muslims are not looting Greggs, Shoe Zone and phone shops. Muslims are not chanting racist and religious slurs. Mobs of far-right thugs and racist yobs are rioting, not Muslims. Nice try, but no — this really isn’t a case of “both sides are rioting”.

@carolinekwan I disagree, if Iman was competing under USA flag or any western flag it was going to be fine or even more they would have portrayed her suffering to be accepted through sports, the problem is that she is Algerian, Muslim and Arab..

Michael Phelps is literally referred to as a freak of nature because of his disproportionate wingspan, double jointed ankles, lung capacity twice that of an average human, body that produces half the lactic acid of a typical athlete, and he is rightly celebrated for being the greatest male swimmer in history. Meanwhile, female athletes with genetic differences are legally discriminated against and harassed to no end. This is not about “protecting women in sports” - this is about protecting a very specific idea of what a woman is.
