In a loaded region of the country, @UNCWBaseball is flying under the radar. The Seahawks under HC Rodney Hood went 34-23 in 2023 en route to winning the Colonial Championship and automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Seahawks drew a tough group in the Conway regional. In 2024, the Colonial is loaded with talent as the league welcomes Campbell and recognizes Northeastern as a national contender. The CAA has 3 teams to be excited about in 2024, though UNCW returns a ton of talent from their 2023 team. Offensively, 2023 Freshman All-American Tanner Thach is one of the best 1B in the country, and a plethora of talent joins him in the Seahawk lineup. CF Trevor Marsh was 1st team All-Colonial last season as was 3B Jac Croom. Thach, 2B Brock Wills, and OF Alec DeMartino were recognized as some of the best freshmen in the Colonial a year ago. 1st team All-CAA pitcher Zane Taylor leads a loaded set of arms on this Seahawk squad. RJ Sales returns from injury and UNCW will have plenty of options with Aubrey Smith, Jacob Schafer and Connor Kane as well. The Seahawks have a strong slate of teams on their schedule, facing both Campbell and Northeastern in pivotal conference series, while also playing Coastal (2x), Liberty, Boston College, ECU (2x), UNC (x2), NC State (x2) and Wake Forest in mid-week competition. UNCW has a chance to bolster their RPI and produce a strong NCAA tournament resume in a tough Colonial conference in 2024.

Just seems as though coaches need to play a bigger role. 60’ pens/ lessons/ velo training all winter is just as dangerous but no one seems to talk about that. Throwing 75 pitches then catching the next two games isn’t great either. Do u limit the amt of games?
