It’s been a very exciting week in the Miller household. Hawthorne Hayes Miller was born on June 3rd at 9:04am growing our crew to 4 kids 5 and under. Babies are the absolute best. Our home is filled with so much love, laughter, and joy. It’s an incredible feeling to know that you can make an entire person from scratch. I truly recommend parenthood — it’s a 10/10 life experience.

Today is a day I hoped would not come. But young, brilliant and talented people grow and move on to new chapters. Robert Gabriel has worked tirelessly for President Trump for over a decade. He was by my side as we built and managed the 2024 campaign to historic victory, organized the White House team during transition, and played a pivotal policy role during the ambitious first 100 days of the second Trump administration. Over the past 12 months, Robert has achieved great success as the Principal Deputy National Security Advisor to President Trump and to National Security Advisor Marco Rubio. Most of all he’s been a trusted confidant and dear friend to me and his White House colleagues, Thank you, Robert. We wish you much success in your endeavors ahead. Very well earned, my friend.

On May 14 and 15, the United States hosted two days of highly-productive talks between Israel and Lebanon. The April 16 cessation of hostilities will be extended by 45 days to enable further progress. The State Department will reconvene the political track of negotiations on June 2 and June 3. In addition, a security track will be launched at the Pentagon on May 29 with military delegations from both countries. We hope these discussions will advance lasting peace between the two countries, full recognition of each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and establishing genuine security along their shared border.

I was on one of those flights today and I can tell you the professionalism shown by the team executing our evacuation. They were meticulous, kind, and respectful. And more importantly, they got us out secretly and safely. Every single person from the Embassy staff, to the consular DOS task force, to the security detail. Today, a Department of State charter flight of American citizens departed the Middle East in route to the United States, as part of our ongoing efforts to assist Americans return home. Additional flights will be surged across the region and American citizens in UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Israel interested in the Department's charter flight or ground transportation options, should complete the Crisis Intake Form at mytravel.state.gov/s/crisis-intake or contact the State Department's 24/7 Task Force at +1-202-501-4444.

Since February 28, over 17,500 American citizens have returned to the United States from the Middle East — with over 8,500 American citizens returning to the U.S. yesterday alone. Many more Americans have left the Middle East to other countries in Europe and Asia, and others have safely departed the Middle East but are still in transit back to the U.S. Through the State Department 24/7 Task Force, we have assisted nearly 6,500 Americans abroad, including offering security guidance and travel assistance. The U.S. State Department will continue to actively assist any American citizen abroad, who wishes to depart the Middle East, to do so.

Here's the message I want to deliver Americans who are in the Middle East and in need of assistance.... We need to know where you are. We need to have contact information for Americans that need assistance. They have to register with us, because as these options begin to open up, and as they open up, we have to be able to call you."

The media wanted the Munich Security Conference to be a split screen moment between clashing visions. We definitely got one. @marcorubio: “We are part of one civilization, western civilization… forged by centuries of shared history, Christian faith, culture, heritage, language, ancestry.” AOC: “Um, you know, I think that, uhh, eh, this is such a, uh, you know, I th-I think that this is a, umm, this is of course a, uh, a very longstanding, um, policy." I don’t know about you, but I’m going to stick with the competent and articulate vision being laid out by the Trump Administration!
