I work within the British media.
Let me tell all attendees of this event something…
There are scores of my fellow media folk desperate for you to show violence and/or disorder. They are desperate to fill their front pages & their headlines with ‘racist’, ‘far-right’ etc. Even the smallest incidents will be amplified & will become the defining images.
Agitators will be among you.
On top of this, thousands of counter protesters will be close by, marching for their own cause (as is their right) and also to show rejection of yours.
And on top of all this too, police will likely be heavy handed with you.
If you’re attending today. You will be subject to provocation. Do NOT rise to it. If you do, you will shame yourselves & your cause. You will also give politicians even more excuses to clamp down on your free speech.
Stay out of trouble and if you see any trouble near you, help calm it down.
Don’t give outlets the headlines & images they are desperately craving...

@ActionBrexit Wow. There go the votes she may have got from disgruntled Tories who were beginning to think she was OK and they'd give the party another try after all. These politicians just can't help themselves and always show who they are.

Doctor: "Your LDL is still high. I'm adding a second statin."
Patient: "I'm already on one. My legs ache."

Doctor: "That'll be the ACE inhibitor I prescribed last visit. We'll swap it for an ARB."
Patient: "I'm not sleeping."
Doctor: "Zopiclone."
Patient: "Heard that's addictive."
Doctor: "We'll taper you with mirtazapine when the time comes."
Patient: "My blood sugar has gone up."
Doctor: "Statins can do that. Metformin."
Patient: "I get diarrhoea on metformin."
Doctor: "Loperamide."
Patient: "I've gained weight."
Doctor: "Ozempic."
Patient: "I feel nauseous."

Last time I spoke with Former UK Prime Minister @trussliz, she was afraid her country would be a failed state by 2030. Today, she told me that the downfall of the UK is happening faster than she expected:
"We're approaching a financial crisis. If you look at illegal immigration, we have a crisis there. If you look at all the issues that have been brushed under the carpet. The grooming gangs that haven’t been dealt with, the crime that we are seeing in our cities, and the general decay and stagnation in this country, we are very, very close to the edge...
Just to give you a comparison, in the year 2000 the average Brit was about as well off as the average American. [Americans] are now 50% richer in terms of income per capita. We are poorer than Mississippi, the poorest state in America."

@VinnieSull1van @Lost___London @PubHistoryTours I tend to paraphrase Pevsner on Victoria Street, SW1, when I see that thing - second rate Victoriana replaced with third rate modernism. I didn't care much for the arch and care even less for the modern station 🫤
English

The architectural decline of London:
The Euston Arch was a 70-foot-tall neoclassical Doric propylaeum built in 1837 as the grand entrance to London's Euston Station. Designed by Philip Hardwick, it was demolished in 1962 to make way for station redevelopment.
I came across an article from the "Londonist" saying that it was ugly and shouldn't be replaced. Well, looking at what came after it, I'm very confident that I firmly disagree.

@ArchRose90 At what age is it that old men lose their minds and start talking absolute garbage? They all seem to do it. All of a sudden they love Greta, the EU is the answer to ALL our problems and they catch Farage Derangement Syndrome. 🫤

@YesterdaysBrit1 I had a Montego once - people were always looking at it (although that was only because it smoked more than I did) 😁
