@MBarley420 @DRFGrening The sport changed. Top 3-year-olds used to run 10-15 times a year. Now elite colts run 5-6 total before retirement because they’re protected breeding assets worth millions.The issue isn’t that Derby horses “can’t” come back in 2 weeks. Owners/trainers simply won’t risk it anymore

@MikeyCoose @DRFGrening Only 13 have won it for a reason. If a speed horse or stalker won the Derby, we wouldn't be having this conversation. They'd run back in The Preakness.

THIS! I don’t get it at all. I need somebody to explain to me like I’m 2 years old. Other horses who have accomplished far less get snapped up. Why? Cause people think he’s just a total fluke with bad genes cause of Race Day sire? Well what if White Abbario passes on his genes? The good news at least is that’s the only reason he’s still running

White Abarrio has won some of the most prestigious races in North America, Florida Derby, Whitney, BC Classic, Pegasus, and now beat the 2 young superstars in the Oaklawn Handicap on the square. Amazing he still has no stallion deal. This is who we should be breeding to as an industry. Sound and durable performing at the highest level over 5 plus years of racing.
