tldr:/ November has become a full healthmaxxing month for me. Physical and mental. Have a $1 million bet on the line. Approaching it as an olympic athlete-- "I guess I'm gonna have to do this at a maximum level" style.
longer version if interested in health hacking-
I've long had a plan to be in better shape in my 40s than I was in my 20s. Was pushing this back due to busy work, but a recent ER heart health scare (turned out to be anxiety related) made it clear to me there is no more postponing to be done.
As I write this I'm sitting in a HBOT chamber, recovering from yesterday's fasted strength training + 2 hour hike (on just a black coffee).
Left forearm microneedled patched with glutathione, right side peptides NAD+, KPV, GHK-CU.
Been able to be in calorie deficit and train without any hunger, brain fog, or mucle pains. HBOT, Red light, Sauna, cryo, massages, peptides all being used regularly for recovery.
Not everyone needs to go this 'extra' but I'm bringing the same level of focus and detail-orientation I use at work, and applying it to explore some new limits.
I've been into biohacking for well over a decade- mainly for mental performance optimization- and I am very used to evaluating risk-reward and being averse to potential side effects. Being good at defense lets you be more aggressive with adding things that don't create compromises.
This is where good judgement comes in. Some things have less evidence but doesn't mean they are bad. Some things are gonna be dependent on the individual person's genes and circumstances. There are several difficult decisions to make, e.g. very narrow time-eating window vs many small meals.
I did a Dexascan at beginning of this month, and despite being overall in good shape, its been clear that anxiety+inadequate sleep had taken a toll. 25.5% Body Fat incl. a chunk of visceral fat-- this despite ALREADY eating clean, NO alcohol, and being quite physically active. It was deflating to say the least.
Now-- I have put a 10 BTC bet on that I will get to under 20% within a month.. >5.5% loss in one month is probably the MOST aggressive target that is achievable.
Basically at 800+ calorie deficit per day all month- with a single re-feed day in the middle. That is basically a 1500 calorie high protein diet, 20k steps/day, 4x week strength training. These are the basics everyone knows.
The discipline part of diet+exercise has definitely been the easy part for me. I can see why the bezos/zuckerberg types get uber fit suddenly after building up the brain regions needed for discipline already from work.
Hardest part for me- no surprise for those who know me, has been the sleep side, along with what has been a stressful month with markets and various other life things I'm dealing with.
This is where I need to rewire physical habits, and I've been chipping away at this. I typically wake up after 4-5hours through habit regardless of when I sleep, and struggle to fall back sometimes. And on the anxiety side I've had to make radical interventions that are ongoing.
Lactoferrin added to stack which already includes 2-3x day creatine, bcaa, bpc157, plus the usual stuff I take for health like omega3, zinc, d3k2, fatty15, etc.
Lets see how this turns out.. right now I'm just focused on trying to "do this at a maximum level", down ~3% bf so far this month and see a lot of other physical benefits. Skin is clear, lifetime PBs broken at the gym, and my white hairs have been disappearing faster than than the ancient BTC whales have been dumping tokens.
I've come to accept that the time and effort spent on finding physical and spiritual alignment doesn't come at the expense of professional success. Redirecting focus was an adjustment, but I can see that success in these areas will only supercharge the professional side.
Will update as things progress for those of you also caring about leveling up physically and mentally.
