This tweet is going to be hard to write. I'm moving to Denver later today for a really great opportunity that I will talk about publicly later on. Florida has been my home for nine wonderful years as a new immigrant to this amazing country. Florida, with all of its perfect imperfections, will always have a special place in my heart. From Pensacola to the Keys and everywhere in-between, this state is beauty personified and represents some of God's richest blessings on this earth. Floridians are some of the coolest, brightest and warmest people in the country. But, we as Floridians need to ask ourselves "exactly what does it mean to be a Floridian?" In my humble opinion, being a Floridian entails exercising common sense, rejecting negativity and hate, and loving your neighbor. This state has come to a place over the last 20 years where we've writ large abandoned these values that unite us in favor of division, discord and not caring for our own. The Florida I grew up visiting as a child and teenager is gone and the Florida of today is not who we are at our core. There are people (including the ones who sent death threats at certain points in time) who will be glad to see me leave and they can (and probably will) say so publicly and I am okay with that. If you've gotten anywhere in the political world without making a few enemies along the way, you're doing it wrong. Have at it. To my Republican friends and family, the ones with whom I disagree the most, thank you for making me a better thinker and a better strategist. Thank you for giving me a safe space when I openly disagreed with my Democratic colleagues. Thank you for reminding me that politics isn't everything and that a lot of the time, we have WAY MORE in common than what we don't. Thank you for putting words I wrote into the statute book. That is something I will never, ever forget. To my Democratic friends and family, thank you for allowing me to show up as myself, even when it results in open criticism towards you. Thank you for helping to reinforce my values, which I will be fighting to defend for all Coloradans. At times, I vehemently disagreed with your choices, and that's what democracy is all about. I'm not going to name individual names to protect the innocent but the real ones know themselves. I love you. Thank you for being a part of this journey. Your secrets will follow me to my grave. The irony here is that the Grovites are the ones who don’t want overdevelopment and who want to keep their canopies/shade/parks etc yet they’re voting party lines bc they believe pro over-development Higgins will defend them! This just proves voters aren’t paying attention… what else is new in Miami 🙄 Get ready for more traffic, more closed streets/ detours etc… quality of life will be affected… smart development is crucial— infrastructure must come first before overdevelopment or residents will get crushed.

Trump+18 Greene County, NC consistently voting for hometown hero Don Davis, while supporting every other Republican on the ballot (incl MARK ROBINSON) is such a funny bit. Don Davis has repped Greene County since 2008, and has won it in EVERY election besides the 2010 red wave.
