The situation in the Middle East continues to deteriorate. @AlboMP announced this morning that Australia will be deploying an E7A and crew to the Gulf, and we will be supplying the UAE with defensive missiles to assist in keeping airspace open and ensure Australians can return home. The first priority of the Albanese Government is, and always will be, to keep Australians safe.   There are around 115,000 Australians in the Middle East – around 24,000 in the UAE.   Helping Australians means also helping the UAE and other Gulf nations to defend themselves.

Residents in Alexandra, Victoria are sheltering on the oval from the fires & they are surrounded by smoke & embers as it’s too late to leave. There are fires everywhere now. Thinking of those in the fire zones & our brave CFA hero’s 🤍

Disappointing that the #ABCNYE coverage didn't show the menorah projected onto the Harbour Bridge pylons. This was a terrible omission. Especially given plenty of shots of Playschool projections onto the pylon.
